I'm quite overwhelmed by all the responses, thank you everyone for the warm welcome! Ha, Europe will rule the world again, this forum is only the beginning. Unite, Euro-Devs! ;-P
Dee Dee, Alexa and Lisa - Thank you and liebe Grüße, same to the suprising number of people form the Benelux area. Also, since I have quite the affinity to all things British it's nice to see so many people from the UK here.

schlag sahne - my favee germman words did i get it right ? Curran, I love the random Schlagsahne thing, see if you can say 'Eichhörnchen' three times as fast as you can (and when you're done with that I can provide an unlimited supply of tongue twisters, too)...

Juchuh, and Hi back to you, Tom, from the far west corner of Germany where it's freezing cold but suprisingly nice and sunny.

How far west is it? ;-) Well, it's about a two hour drive from Dutch border, so it's not the furthest to the west that you could be, but far enough to be well away from the sea. Are we on the same latitude, then? ;-)

I am thinking that Sylt/Sild could be the far West corner of Germany? But since you are not near the sea, hmmm ...? Let us see, time to refresh German geography: Duisburg, Cologne, Bonn or Düsseldorf?

Haha, well done, Dee Dee, here's another clue: our cathedral is NOT a 'Münster' (= minster), and it is the most visited cathedral in Germany, apparently.
This is fun, I wonder who'll figure it out first... ;-P

This is fun, I wonder who'll figure it out first... ;-P Google confirmed it, but that clue makes it pretty obvious, lol. Sadly, I was in that city just switching trains (during my year in Brussels), so I could only look at the cathedral from the outside. Welcome from another European dev!
