How would it be possible to pop a leg bag? I have sometimes joked about popping it, but that wouldn't be possible with my guy's leg bag. If it were to become too full, it would leak on the condom end.

If it were to become too full, it would leak on the condom end. It's one of those crazy, irrational fears. He's much more concerned with the leaking issue. I'm the kind of girl who falls up the stairs and trips on her own feet, so I'm always waiting on that ridiculous catastrophe at my own hands, lol. Maybe it's because it's not something we deal with regularly? I think he's only used a leg bag maybe 3 or 4 times since we've been together.

I stopped wearing a leg bag many years ago...i don't pee all day! I know it sounds crazy, but the only time i take a leak is in a.m. and before bed. I do wear a roll-down cath with adhesive, but i don't need it during day. Years ago i wore the bag thing...what a pain!

HQ has a SPC as well. It does not bother me. It is just there and a necessity. Honestly, it bothers him more than it does me. I have emptied his leg bag and night bag. Also, his aide has shown me how to change the bags and the tubing. I was a little more uncomfortable with that. But that was more that I was just worried about infection and that I would cause it to not be sterile. But in all honesty, the catheter and bags don't bother me at all. They aren't "devvy" to me either.

Does anyone take meds for spasms? I have refused from the start to use them. Are spasms something some devs prefer? Or is it more across the board?

Yup, i take em...spasms will drive me insane without!! It's the opposite for me, but that might have to do with my injury only being three years ago. I believe you said you are thirty seven post?

gozerthegozerian, from the conversations I'be had, I found that most devs are...excited...by spasms. Including myself. That being said, been with my c3 partner for nearly 4 years and at this point, I hate the spasms...they're frustrating and have caused some catastrophes (me having to race home cause his legs flailed off of the footrests, almost pulling him out of his chair). There are plenty of other things to turn us on. But don't take meds if they don't bug you. If they do, hope you find something that works. My partner takes huge amounts of baclofen...still has severe spasticity How did we get onto talking about spasms by the way?

I love the spasms, but unless he forgets to take his meds, he hasn't got severe spasms and even then they aren't too bad.

I don't like about spasms that they aren't pleasant to my bf. However, I enjoy when we're holding hands and a hand spasm makes him clench my hand very tightly. Spasms can also make for a nice vibration during sex, but my bf normally doesn't have spasms during sex, so I've experienced that only once. His spasms occur mainly after transferring, when I put his legs onto the bed. His legs still aren't that thin due to leg spasms, and I like that they look regular and are still at the same time. I also like thin legs in contrast to a strong upper body, though.

There are a few antispasmodics, but baclofen seems to work the best for most. However there is a tolerance that can develop so the dosing can get quite high. Some even require a baclofen pump. Also there can be a fine line between being too flaccid and benefiting from some muscle tone that comes from the spasms. I'm curious why you are against the meds at this point? (If I read that right). For me, from a dev POV, the occasional spasm is quite nice, but not if they are severe or numerous enough to cause severe discomfort or decrease quality of life in any way.

I went many years without using muscle relaxers, but once i discovered i could calm the contractions down i loved em. You see, it's not just legs that will suddenly clinch strongly, but it's hands, arms abdomen and back, sometimes pulling me to one side. My abdomen can contract sooo hard my quad belly turns into a six-pack.. lol In bed, if i just move a little, my legs (quadriceps) will flex very hard, bending up violently, knocking my knees into my over-the-bed table. Then, they'll straighten and shake like hell. My legs have retained practically normal look, and they're strong. when i'm in chair during the day, spasms can make me crazy, so i stay on Tizanadine.
