I'm curious why you are against the meds at this point? (If I read that right). I don't like the idea of my legs shrinking and enjoy the movement. Sorry for the weird off shoot in the conversation. I was curious about the appeal or lack thereof. I am new to this and just trying to get a feel for the landscape.

Meh, I think it's ok. There's been far worse.

I'm not sure apologies are in order. I have no idea how the etiquette works here. My goal is to not perform the message boards equivalent of belching in front of the queen of England.

And the movement has to be healthy. every time his legs spasm I just think, that's got to be good for blood flow. Why would you consider taking meds for something that doesn't bother you?

I have no intention of taking them. My intention for the question was whether or not spasaming is enjoyable from the dev's point of view. I am easily fascinated by people and enjoy learning more about them.

From what I've seen and heard, the spasms are often just in the way of something and as such, quite the nuisance. Last week my friend couldn't transfer on the upper bench in a sauna, as he was afraid that kind of a more difficult transfer might throw him on the floor if his legs started spasming in the middle of it. It sucks sitting down on the children's bench and not the upper level where the heat is better! I have no spasms whatsoever, which really helps to nail down transfers that I wouldn't be able to do otherwise. I'm really glad for that, as the lack of spasms enables me to do more. Well, except for using it for standing, but hey. No hard feelings on missing that I get it that it can be a visual treat for some, but besides that.. It's better to take care of your circulation by using, for example, compression socks. I'm also pretty certain that some people confuse seriously swollen legs with some muscle tone. I think that for some, this thread is about finding some positive function about their own spasms, but it's better to concentrate just on being a great guy overall. Or a sleazy rat like Yours Truly.

Does anyone take meds for spasms? I have refused from the start to use them. Are spasms something some devs prefer? Or is it more across the board? I take baclofen. I still spasm when taking it. Like when im transferring out or into bed or while getting dressed. They arent intense but it does travel up to my quad belly and tightens for several seconds. Legs will shake, not bad, but its noticeable. I have long legs cause of my height and they havent shrunk on me yet. Sounds exactly like mine. Are yours affected by your mood?

I do enjoy when hungryquad spasms. He doesn't get them too often. He takes a med for the spasms caused by the catheter. But when those wear off at night, he starts to get some spasms. But they aren't too bad. I like feeling them though when he does get them.

Baclofen 90mg/day for this guy. But hey, even though AD can definitely be a mug to deal with, if it didn't happen we would really screw up our bodies a lot of the time. For me there's only been one severe episode of AD in ten years where medical intervention was required. My BP went to 175/110 and they loaded me up with Nitro, and that gave me a headache too, just not as bad. The cause of the AD was...Deucidge!!!

My mood is directly connected to my spasms. Unfortunately it is on both ends of the spectrum. When I am agitated they can get intense. However though, when I get excited they have been welcomed. Day to day life I try to remain even and it's not a problem.

I stopped wearing a leg bag many years ago...i don't pee all day! I know it sounds crazy, but the only time i take a leak is in a.m. and before bed. I do wear a roll-down cath with adhesive, but i don't need it during day. Years ago i wore the bag thing...what a pain! Dude, how do you drink alcohol? I usually try to stick to bars that I know have big, accessible bathrooms but the pickins' are pretty slim. I inevitably wind up emptying my leg bag into the toilet while the back of my chair is sticking out of the stall because I can't close the door. I don't give a shit who sees me but I think it's funny how many strangers ask if I need any help. One of these days I'm going to fuck with one of them and ask if they can hold my dick and help me aim.

Yah, I don't know...I just don't get feelings to take a leak, even drinking alcohol, if I do my process of getting pee out in morning and at night. I should say I don't drink that much during the day, but maybe a Coke, and small coffee and lil orange juice.
