Oh man I saw such a handsome guy today! I recently moved to SoCal for school and I just went back to school this week. When I went to my next class, I saw the most cute quad! He had long hair (which I love) and kind eyes and let me tell you this was almost like a fanfic 😂 he made so many funny jokes during class and I may have laughed a little too loud at them. I’m swooning that’s for sure! I'm guessing this class will be a regular thing. Is he a teacher or a student? You have to get talking to him marmar. R.

And he’s a student. He sits in the back w out a desk and has his own little desk. He’s able to hold a pencil w out a brace or anything. I would love to talk to him - I just don’t know how I’d start !

Maybe just start by trying to make eye contact and give a smile. If he responds to that then you can say hi, im sure a conversation will soon start. Dont think of how attracted you are, just think of it as a regular student interraction.

omg marmar this is the perfect situation, you have to at least talk to him. Just sit next to him, give him a genuine smile and say hello. You have so much to talk about! Anything related to the class, your homework, other classes, the school, etc. Get in the habit of saying hello, how are you for a few classes, chatting a little, then ask if he wants to get coffee before or after class. There must be someplace nearby on campus to get coffee. Whenever you don't know what to say next, just ask him about himself (lowkey stuff like what movies do you like, not heavy shit like how were you injured). People love to talk about themselves, and it will make you seem deep if you ask. You got this! Go for it!

It can be so frustrating dani when you arent able to act on your desires. Try and look at the positives of your current relationship....maybe the wheeler was a total asshole lol, there are some out there. For most of us our dreams of being with a pwd can be intense but the reality is that its just like any other relationships, it has ups and downs, high spots and lows. Try to find a balance between dreams and reality, i know it can be tough x I've lived 7 years with an AB, a good life. Then I met the disabled man of my dreams and I had no doubt: he was the perfect man for me. And I realised my dream, I break up with my ex boydriend (AB one) and I strat a love story with the disabled one. Already one year together ! I can say you: YES it is intense every day, NO it's not like another relationship. My life with him is like a dream, more, it's like in my dreams ! My body reacts alone with so much fire in me, in the instant I see him. Every second without him is like a day, everyday with with is like a second (too short). Don't let pass your chance anymore ! You must a least have a contact with the second man in a wheelchair that you'll see. @belgianwheeler

Not necessarily wheeler spotting. But, I had a PWD visit at work unexpectedly today. At first, I noticed, tried to reconcile that it is not my disability of choice BUT THEN...I liked the way he walked and the way his hands were. Ugh!!! I shook his hand several times - loving it-feeling guilty. I caught a glimpse of a brace on his leg...this DEV thing is too much sometimes... needless to say, I am on a DEV high! AUTOMATICALLY!! How does that happen??? 😮

Me again. So tonight, hubby and I driving- pulling into supermarket parking lot. I saw him right away, a middle-aged quad, in an electric chair, handsome, although not my type, with what looked like a career, and next to a white van parked in the farthest back row of lot. I noticed right away. I couldn’t pull my eyes away from him. I noticed hubby is watching me. I get nervous and start mumbling why he is parked so far away and how it’s not right-Ugh. Hubby just looking at me. Not the first time he has looked at me to gage my reaction with a PWD. Something tells me me he has a hint of something about my thoughts ! Just had to share-thank goodness for PD.

SouthernCalGal nice story. I also had a spotting the other day at the supermarket - a middle aged wheeler, looked to be paraplegic. He wasn't bad looking. He actually pushed his wheelchair with one hand only and with the other hand he was pushing a small cart for his groceries. It seemed kind of a hassle and I imagined how I would push it for him...lol Fortunately it didn't stir me up very much and I was able to let go of the sighting, it hadn't affected me very much for some reason. But I was kind of glad about that.

Dani, this experience didn’t give me any DEV feelings. But, the situation made me acutely aware that I am a DEV. Hope that makes sense.

Saw the para that lives not far from my house outside again yesterday. He had a trailer on the back of his truck and was fiddling with it, fixing the back of it, etc. It was really cool!

I was in the pedestrian area of a big city today and me and a female friend had dinner and drinks outside and we were able to spot a lot of people walking and some rolling by. I had a good time. Saw at least four good-looking wheelers and... god, the roll by too fast 😞 I can just allow myself a very short glance and then I have to look somewhere else since I don’t want people to find out, what I’m thinking. And of course, when I see a wheeler, I immediately think that everyone is looking at me, wondering why I am looking at him... Ok, how do people who are not especially into PWDs do that?! Of course, they look at the PWD as well, since the PWD is „different“ from the others. But what do they have in mind in that particular moment?

feelsunshine , where do you live? To see 4 wheelers in one day-whoa!!!!! I live in Southern California in a big City and I have one sighting every 6 weeks or so and I travel all around. I might need to move where you are 😂😂😂😂!!! I’ve also been in big cities thinking I’d hit the jackpot and nothing. Please know how lucky you are!!!!!
