Red flags for me... are guys who just want to talk about disability and have zero desire to have a conversation outside of that... If I ask about interests outside of anything related to disability... like what are your hobbies?? I get quick short answers and then they try to redirect the conversation back to disability.... I always give everyone the benefit of the doubt and I'll even kindly humor people I'm pretty sure are fake for a time but in a guarded way... I had a "fake" tell me I couldn't be a real dev because I couldn't tell him why I was so attracted I couldn't explain it to his satisfaction so he claimed. The only thing we ever chatted about was my dev and his disability and despite my trying to explain it to him 10 million times (I'm very patient and tolerant) he continued to ask... We even video cam'd but I never saw him in a chair or anything like that I don't know it was like he expected me to just be openly sexual with him and while I am open and can speak openly about my sexuality, he wanted me horny lusting after and getting in his pants... and when I wasn't it meant I wasn't a "real dev." So sorry dude I'm not about to jill off at the sight of a catheter move along find someone more naive... Usually, in my experience with fakes there's lots of pissing and moaning too about how hard their life is and like "pity baiting" thinking it will incite a devs lust *gag*
I do believe there is a difference tho between fakes/w2bs/pretenders and those with BIID. I've had experience with both. Now many fakes do or will cling to the BIID label to justify themselves but I have met those with BIID where it is not sexually driven. I've met those with BIID who are genuine and open about their experience. I do not believe any of them were ever talking to me and faking people out on the side. I also believe they are helped greatly by having someone to speak with who is accepting. Maintain a level of caution etc as you would with anyone but as I've gotten to know a handful of them I've found them to be decent people and I've enjoyed learning from their experience as much as they've enjoyed learning from mine. If you can't do it no harm but don't make blanket assumptions they're all perverts. Fakes/pretenders/w2bs etc have a much higher creep factor than some who openly claim the BIID label.

Seriously... *gag* Right... major ick factor!! To make matters worse i think when he found me to be kind and open about talking about my dev he started chatting with me using 2 other yahoo screen names... I even said ya know if you want to learn about devs you should check out the msg board and linked them here... and everyone was like Nah i just wanna chat... faker faker smelly baker... you just don't wanna get called out...

This thread reminded me of "Quid Pro Quo" when the crazy lady said something along the lines of "disabled person being born in an able body" which made me feel bad, because clearly that would be BIID, right? Maybe I'm wrong but wouldn't that be similar to a trans gendered person feeling they are born in the wrong body too? I can understand that... we can't help how are brains are wired, I learned that coming to terms as a dev.
I talked to pretender on here very briefly and he seemed to think as a Dev I'd be interested in anybody in wheelchair, regardless of if they were actually disabled. ehhhh doesn't quite work like that dude.

I can't help thinking there are guys here who might feel they are in the wrong body too....like they should not be pwd? I dont want to be cruel and condemn biid specially considering they arent hurting anyone. Or do the guys feel offended? But if a pretender made a dev believe he's disabled that would be a huge attack for me. I couldn't be comprehensive, I'd probably feel very hurt.

I made a comment on this forum just last week that seemed to have caused some agitation with some of the Devs. There were also remarks about me being a pretender or a fake. I am not a pretender and I most certainly do not fake my disability... It's just that I am still new to this idea of women actually finding me and my disability attractive and my reaction to that is still one of uncertainty. Lots of reading and catching up to do to get more understanding. Perhaps I will completely come around to the idea in the (near) future, but for now I am still learning.
