I have an ex that went thru the same thing 8 years ago , keeping working and as active as poss helped her out loads when well. She had certain things that let her know she was going to have a bad few days like the band of pressure in your chest is known as ms hugs and the weakening of legs in the days up to feeling unwell so gave her time to prepare for it . Hope all goes well. I had that band around my chest there for a couple of weeks. Its gone now thankfully.

queenkala - Thinking of you. Stay strong and positive. I have 3 people that I know that have MS and the Interferon treatments seem to keep "flair-ups" to a minimum. Each one of them has gone to very healthy eating program (one is Vegan). All of them remain very active. I wish you good healing.

Yeah, I’m thinking how I’m going to change my diet etc. To keep it honest, I’m overweight. I have horrific eating habits (I’m a binger), so that’s gotta change. I think that’s going to be the hardest part. Bye bye chocolate...

queenkala-"One Day At A Time" - take your time with getting healthy - both physically and mentally. Everything in moderation. Chocolate is NEVER OUT - YOU HEAR THAT?? Maybe not everyday - but Chocolate is ALWAYS necessary in life-not to be given up ! Look into an anti-inflammatory diet first-then move on from there. Thinking of you...and wishing you strength and resilience!

Chocolate is NEVER OUT - YOU HEAR THAT?? Maybe not everyday - but Chocolate is ALWAYS necessary in life-not to be given up ! So true! If you are eating candy bars, most of the calories comes from added milk, caramel and nuts, not the chocolate itself. Dark chocolate without milk or any other add-ins has fewer calories, less sugar, and you get a much bigger, more intense hit of chocolate from only a very small piece, so you eat less of it. Very high quality dark chocolate is not bitter, but has a natural fruitiness and is meant to be savored like a fine red wine. Cocoa powder is also low in calories and fat--you can sprinkle it on other foods like granola. Eating healthy doesn't have to mean sacrificing all flavor and treats. Hang in there!

I'm very sorry to hear that you got such a shitty diagnosis. I hope that there's at least some comfort in knowing what is going on, as opposed to the uncertainty of not knowing.

So sorry to hear about your diagnosis, queenkala! A few years ago, I developed some really bad stomach issues and didn’t know how I was going to get through it. I couldn’t work and I was in tears every day. I finally got it under control with really strict diet changes. My family teases me all I ever eat anymore is vegetables, but it’s worth it to not be ill anymore. Weight loss is a bonus!
I miss McDonald’s though! And red meat. I was feeling so good, I tried a burger a few weeks ago, and it took me a week to recover! Diet makes such a difference in how we feel!
But I agree, it’s always possible to work in small quantities of the foods that you love! Would be happy to share my diet tips if you want.
