i find perusing someone's book collection to be as enjoyable as contemplating a landscape. it can be deceptive tho. i once had a roommate who had shelves of cool books...which i happened to know he'd never read a one of.

...you're only as old as you let yourself be...it's entirely possibly to die ninety years from your birth still only 20-something...

Welcome back! How did your masters thesis go? Were you able to use any of the material from the devs? I have always felt bad that I didn't answer you. I just couldn't get it together at the time.

Welcome back! How did your masters thesis go? Were you able to use any of the material from the devs? I have always felt bad that I didn't answer you. I just couldn't get it together at the time. Actually Claire it's slow going, i've been involved in a few conferences around my area and TAing a bit, in addition taking a few sociology courses as per recommendation from one of my profs. It's all a bit complicated, but apparently some sociologists of health and illness have some theoretical tension with disability studies scholars on what exactly a disability or imparment is. So I'm trying to sort out where exactly that tension is and if I can mediate between the two theories. Anways I did get to do a presentation on sex and I used some material from devs when the conversation eventually turned to disability(which i knew it inevitably would since I've got the wheels lol). I used the material more to challenge peoples ideas about what a "turn on" could be. So it was all very interesting and of course no definate conclusions were drawn except sex is something more than mere penetration and orgasm. So I think I changed a few minds which is what any philosopher usually asks for.
