Oh the black and blue.... I hope it's a bright or royal blue, not navy. Isn't this a disability dev site not a shoe fetish site

Oh the black and blue.... I hope it's a bright or royal blue, not navy. It's actually the Crayola Midnight Blue (if you scroll down) so it prolly really does qualify as a bruise. ;D It appears to be a UN Peacekeeper site sometimes The hats and helmet don't match the skirt, at all! ;D

I'll tell ya what... If someone will go through and put all the posts about how a devotee looks at pictures in a file/folder I will read it and learn from it. Fair enough. Done. Here you go: paradevo.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general

E... Where are you from in S.Fla? I spent some time shortly after my injury in Ft Lauderdale. I went to school at FAU. Im still a member of the PVAF and get updates all of the time from them. Perhaps we know some of the same people? Ever do anything with Shake a Leg? I was strictly seen at the SCI clinic at the Miami VA and never made it over to the Project Walk section. More than likely everything is a moot point if you were on the West Coast. I'm in Boynton Beach, which is about 45 minutes north of Ft. Lauderdale. I've never done anything with any "disability" organization. I tend not to like cripples. With a few exceptions, of course.

Not sure 20 million will be enough. I was trying to say, put him in a wheelchair and the girls on this site would change their tune about the pics. I didnt hear any of them say GROSS, but I was assuming. Sigh, no, you're wrong. Trust me. You sit down a guy that wouldn't attract me in the first place and it's not going to suddenly make him Adonis. It's the most common and most frustrating misconception that guys here have. This is the way I have been trying to explain it, but it might not work... If you're a guy and you're really attracted to girls with red hair, would you be attracted to a woman you found in all other ways ugly but had red hair? Would you be attracted to a 95 year old woman who happened to somehow have red hair? Are you attracted to every single red haired female on the planet? Of course not. That guy is old and ugly and a wheelchair won't fix that!

I still dont see a file/folder titled "How devs see guys in pictures" Regardless, I've looked throughout this board over the past week quite a bit. I have an idea. Ruth's explanation made sense to me. Yay! I made sense. I love when that happens.

He basically told you that you were acting like an idiot and that you should straighten up then you start trying to mesh your personal lives? I thought it was a pretty mature response to constructive criticism, actually.

Well I think Chris just chose the wrong example. The dude is old, fat, and ugly. Though he quite obviously must have some real game, since his GFs are not exactly in the poorhouse.
Take a perfectly regular, average looking guy that wouldn't cause a second glance, but then put the same guy is a wheeler in shorts with atrophied legs and a manual chair. I bet that for a high % of devs, he bypasses "cute" and goes directly to "hot." C'mon devs, admit it......

(How is that for a sound bite?) It isn't a miracle worker, though. But then, I'm apparently unusual in not finding non-disabled guys hot at all, so a wheelchair would be required for me to see someone going from "cute" to "hot." Okay, not necessarily a wheelchair, but at least a good, noticeable limp!

There's just got to be something there to cling onto! I'm pretty much the same as everyone else. If the guy in the chair doesn't do it for me, then there's pretty much no hope for him. There has to be the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual connection that any couple should be starting out with.

I bet that for a high % of devs, he [orange]bypasses "cute" and goes directly to "hot."[/orange] C'mon devs, admit it...... if it was a cute guy to begin with that you put in the chair, then yes, i imagine he might potentially shoot up to hot. but "an average looking guy that wouldn't cause a second glance" is *not* going to suddenly become hot because he is disabled. more interesting, perhaps. i'll give you that. but he is not going to magically "bypass cute and go directly to hot". i admit it will often raise the 'sexy' factor. but for me, i think physical attractiveness and sexiness can be almost two separate categories. maybe that is what you were implying? frankly, for me it ain't all about looks either. i've met a couple of stunning men in wheelchairs who i thought were arrogant s.o.b.s. ... so not attractive to me at all past the physical level. (<---which is not "enough") and some mighty fine looking dudes who were great guys but still not compatible in other important ways. i think that's why so many new guys get frustrated with us when they show up expecting us to jump them in a horny frenzy because they're in a wheelchair. the chair may give them an edge but they still need the other compatibility factors to back it up. it feels like the hundreth time we've had this conversation ... but that's my 2 cents again, for what it's worth.... and annie, i agree with you and nightstar80 about rounded-toe women's shoes.
