Thx Dentelle... Dee Dee, I am in a chair due to an SCI. I was electrocuted by 14,400 volts, killed, then fell 40 ft onto a parking lot. Consequently, I broke my left leg 6x, crushed my pelvis and tailbone into eggshell pieces, broke L-4, L-5, AND T-9. Thankfully, the impact also re-started my heart. Sorry if I elaborated too much. Short answer SCI. I know we have quite a few 'death cheaters' on this board, but seriously - THAT is an amazing survival story.

They treated him pretty good, helped his family. I remember they were at the Christmas party, the winter after his accident.
Some companies are crap, depends on the boss. But most companies are respectful and help the worker and their families as much as they can.

It appears to me after lots of reading, that most of the devs her have dated someone disabled.(is that true) How many 'wheelers' haave dated bonafide, card-carrying devs? just curious...

Of the men I've dated, not one has ever had a previous relationship with a dev that he knew of. I suspect that there are some who have had dates or relationships with devs and not known it. (And to answer your question, I've been on at least one date IRL with seven different disabled guys). We can be pretty skilled at hiding, given that we grow up in a world that tends to hate or fear us. I hope you'll be inspired to give dating a go, communistbhoy! I think we're a very safe and welcoming bunch here. And if you find your confidence in real life flagging, I always tell guys to assume that when you're being stared at it's because you're so sexy. It's probably the truth more often than you would think.
