Hey there Peony! So cool that you decided to come out of lurk mode. Also glad to see another fellow dev in a happy AB relationship. I think you're totally spot on when you say that there is some sort of scale when it comes to devness. I'm gonna open up a new thread about the topic over in Devs Only, so we don't hijack your welcome thread Poopsicles! I enjoy it when the devs only board ventures into the rest of the board and we get to have conversations about those touchier issues. I need to quit the periods of absenceness that I take and go back to tapping my fingers in anticipation of my favorite picture on this site: So, how long has PD been your secret home away from home?

I've only been head butted by one (I fed him so much chamomile as a kid too, the bastard), but I think it was just his way of saying thank you...

Videos of fainting goats, and tree climbing goats are also well worth a watch...if you're into that kind of thing, and occasionally have far too much time on your hands... I mooched around here for a while reading old posts, in fits and starts, then a little more regularly for, I dunno, a year or two? I did come close to joining quite a few times, but always talked myself out of it. Hence, squirrely ;D

It was definitely a gesture of thanks and adoration... or a not so subtle attempt at homicide... sometimes it's so hard to tell the difference with animals. ;D

You let us down with your awolness. >.>

A year or two? That's nothing, I've talked to people who have been lurking for over five years and still won't register.

I dunno...I still feel kind of creepy about it, but then again I think everyone who posts understands that it is essentially 'public'. Some of us are just late to the party, I guess ;D

Don't feel creepy. The people who are creeped out by devs are insecure with their bodies, hate what their disability has done to their life, and are generally just angry that there are people out there who think their condition is not as horrible as they are convinced it is.

Thanks, and so succinct! I may not be, however, as I had two wines with dinner, but there you go! Just to clarify, I was mostly meaning that I felt creepy about lurking without contributing for a while. That said, no doubt there was a little Freud involved, and one of the reasons that made it hard for me to join PD was that academic understanding of the fact that one of the things I find beautiful and attractive, is also something that potentially brings pain (many kinds of it!) to someone else. I tend to feel (for the most part) now that, aside from naturally empathetic feelings, a lot of that thought process is affected by how we are typically socialised to view disability (eg often non-sexual, for example). I think this has been covered much more articulately in many other places on the board, and I have probably totally butchered my potentially half-baked thoughts on the matter. Anyway. I hope that doesn't upset/anger/annoy anyone (apologies if it does!). I'll quit my havering for now

Welcome Peony! I am very late to your debutante ball, but I was unfortunately "under the weather" (har har har). I am glad you are out of lurking mode.
I too am one of those "equal opportunity" devs who has predominantly had relationships with AB guys.
