I'm buried in books with SCI characters, but I just ran across this one with a blind hero: www.emlynchand.com/farsighted/Someone should read and review it!

The author is offering a free Advance Review Copy! Would anyone like to volunteer to read and review this book? She will send it to you (I suspect as an ebook or pdf). Let me know and I'll pass on your info! Again, this is a blind hero. It isn't a romance, it's young adult, but there's a bit of a love story and the paranormal element that the blind young man is having visions of the future. www.emlynchand.com/farsighted/

I'll do it, if it's an ebook or pdf. Is this an offer on her website, or did she offer it to you specifically? I couldn't find anything on the website about review copies.

She offered directly to us. She googled her name and saw that I had posted here! She just wrote to me on facebook to ask if myself or anyone here would like to review.
I know you're pressed for time these days, D.G., so I will definitely do it if you feel like it's too much for you.
I'm certain it will be possible to do it as an ebook or PDF.

Sigh, yes, I am totally overcommitted. But if it isn't too long I could read it. Although it depends on how fast you want it. I probably need a week or two to read it and write a review.

Were you able to get in touch with Emlyn? I'm guessing it will be a quick read, since it is classified as YA

I am on it! I've been emailing with Emlyn. Honestly though, it makes me a bit nervous to post a review of a teen book on an adults-only site. I'll leave it up to Emlyn to decide, but it seems like she wants to use the reviews for publicity, and I'm not sure this is a site she wants to be linking to. I directed her to Devoteen as well, that might be better. Celeste has been doing great things over there. Go, Celeste!

You could post a review on Amazon, though, right DG? I think Emlyn would find that extremely helpful once the book comes out.

Well she said it doesn't bother her. I have the advance copy, but it will take me a few weeks to read and write a review.

Still working on this. But in the meantime, I just finished a different young adult fantasy book, Graceling by Kristin Cashore: amzn.com/0547258305Wow, this book was amazing. At first I didn't really get into the Ren Faire/Lord of the Rings lite setting, but by the end I was totally captivated by the characters. And there is a blind character who shows up at the very very end. I don't want to say anything more, because the surprise is part of what makes it so good, but I got a huge devo thrill even in those last few pages. Besides, it's an excellent novel in its own right, with a strong female lead and a believable love interest for her. Way way more satisfying than all those crappy romances I've been reading lately. If you enjoy fantasy fiction, I can't recommend it enough, and the devvy ending is like the cherry on top.
