Tassie is a beautiful state, its like going back in time. Hobart is like the new Sydney harbor, butt less expensive. While I love Melbourne, its bloody wet and cold today. I need mud guards on my wheelchair. In freo I loved those little limestone cottages and the prices are way out of my reach. And the reach of most people. I found that the access was pretty good for an old town, mind you I stayed at the esplanade hotel, very swish. One of my destinations will be a lot further south, I want to get to Margaret river and albany. The shark attack capital

Yeah, Albany is beautiful, it pains me that it's not the state capital...when we were there last my parter saw whales in the harbour!! Margaret River is beautiful too, though...that whole corner is worth a week or two on its own and yeah, Tassie looks incredible, one of those places that can't be like anywhere else.

(also apparently there are a tonne of deaths here that never get reported as shark attacks, but are suspected to be...one of the fatalities a few years ago happened a day after I'd gone snorkeling about 1km away...still, what do you expect when all of their food gets fished...)

it's always strange to me when guys sign up and introduce themselves and then delete their account shortly thereafter, often before even making any real attempt to engage with us.
but it's even weirder when someone *is* engaging with us and getting involved in conversations.
i'm just musing aloud, and ultimately it makes no difference to me, but i do wonder if it's just because we don't throw ourselves at them fast enough for their liking? or is weird stuff maybe happening behind the scenes in pm-land?
just kinda scratching my head and thought i'd verbalize it.
it happens so often that i periodically check the personals section to see who has "turned white" lately.
but munkydays was a bit of a surprise.

but munkydays was a bit of a surprise. Nods vigorously. I wouldn't be surprised if the parking rage thread/tangent had something to do with it, though...

Hi everyone! I thought I'd say hi to the fellow Aussies. I'm a T6 para as well in Sydney. I'm a new member (just joined today ) and saw the thread. Don't worry Dolly I promise I won't do this post and then delete my account What does "turned white" mean? You can have the feeling of some company Peony as I'm a NZ citizen although I was born in Aus. Unfortunately I don't think I have it in me to defend the NZ comments, I've been brain washed by too many aussies haha. The funny thing is that I was considering moving to NZ for a little while but I've been thinking why is everyone leaving? Would it be social suicide? I just like to be different lol but by the looks of things the housing looks cheaper...bonus! It's great to find a site talking about these topics. Hope to have the opportunity to chat more.

"Turned white" apparently refers to the username going from an active user to a "guest" account. I guess when someone deletes their account this happens? If you look at your name now in the post it's orange. Welcome to the board. I'm no where near Australia but still happy to see a new member .

Thanks for the greeting Ximena and the run down on terminology. I'm not the most technologically advanced person (sorry Gen Y), I'm only getting into this type of thing now. Great to see it's with like minded people who don't judge.

Hey there! So cool to have another genetic NZer here! There's another one who comes on now and then, so that makes three...wooooo! And NZ = social suicide? Get out of town! Also don't be fooled by the housing...well, just make sure you don't want to buy in Wellington or Auckland. Anyway, I'll pretend you haven't been brainwashed, and welcome to the site Hope you enjoy it

Woo!! I know the saying is usually 'good things come in pairs' but one more has got to be even better! You guys are lucky, I don't admit to being a kiwi often.
Hmm my NZ fantasy looks like it'll be crushed before it even started. I'll be heading over there early next year, so I'll have to pick your brain for all the good spots to see Peony. Thanks for the warm welcome as well.
