PWD or not, the disappearing act has been the same. First of all I'm sorry you had to experience that, it sucks. I was more taken aback by the comment about the 4 others and about a pwd pretending to be able bodied. That confused me! But I get this is a public forum, so I don't really expect details. Just found it weird... |

I've been a member longer than that, there have been other screen names the sign-in details of which were long since forgotten.
PD is a very important part of my world, and the nearest thing I do to social media. I dip in and out, probably relative to my dev highs and lows. I may not check in for months but when I need it it's always here.
It's my safe place, I am not open about my devness elsewhere so this is the one place I can speak freely about it, safely, with people who understand from both sides of the dev / PWD fence.
I am respectful of the fact that the wheelers here are primarily straight guys and they have generally been respectful and open in return. I think the worst I've had have been an odd guy who has asked me not to contact them. I have equally had some very open, flirtatious conversations with straight guys, while respecting it will never be more.
I think it helps that my dev thoughts seem more in tune with those of a female dev than a male dev. Male devs often have a very direct, sometimes aggressive approach to PWDs. For me it's more about the person and how they live life with the physical being less important. The point I'm making is my more female approach seems to make it easier for me to take part in the conversations given that most devs here are female.
A couple of things you might want to bear in mind is gay wheelers, and for that matter gay devs don't generally stick around for long. I'm never sure if it's not for them, if they find someone and disappear into the real world, or if we gay guys are just more fickle.
The other thing is, as is always pointed out, this is not a dating site. Of course people meet here but it's not really what it's about. I am not looking for a relationship so that's not an issue for me, but for you it may be.
The members here are a great bunch of intelligent people from all over the world and there are lots of really interesting conversations. The more you give the more you'll receive so join in and enjoy it.
An introduction in Personals with a little about you and your devness is usually appreciated.

Greetings from Chicago! Gay dev here, generally into quads and other guys with similar level disability (DMD, ALS, etc.) Never really expressed this attraction publically before but I'm glad to have found this site and open to chatting with anyone who wants to say hello!
