I actually knew someone who knew someone (yeah, I know doesn't mean much) that was going to be a NASA pilot actually, but something or another kept him from doing actual missions, so he ended up being a paper pusher or whatever at ground control (I think his name was Tom or something ). Honestly the incident regarding the woman isn't so extraordinary...You see that stuff on Cops all of the time...the only reason it made the papers, etc. was because she was working for NASA.

Heyyyy, i've noticed lately a LOT more attention given to the wounded coming back from Iraq. It seems to have exploded since i started this thread. So, obviously, the major news media has been reading this board and stealing from our threads. IT'S SO OBVIOUS!!

Well there is a chain of restaurants that were at least inspired by your country over there...politically, our government has already changed due to Iraq and other things...I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a more complete take-over in '08...so you might be surprised by winds of change that could be hitting our nation eventually.

Laura, my tiny lap dancer, we are being watched every minute by YOU KNOW WHO..but please don't get paranoid!!!
Fubber...i pray to the Sun Gods you're right about the winds of change, but the damage done to so many lives and their families due to the massive amounts of head injuries, SCIs, blind and amps has been done forever. Not to mention America's credibility, image and $500 billion+ for this giant mess. I'm curious...how many troops did you Aussies contribute to Iraq? Do your people think your President was bribed into it?? Not finding fault, i'm just curious.

I think the main reason the press is covering the wounded now, is because of the whole Walter Reed fiasco going on.

Interesting, F8ubb...i didn't understand that history!! See, i still think Bush and gang used leverage, maybe even historical facts, to nudge, push, shove or bribe countries into following us into Hell.
i love how Cheney gave an interview, overlooking Sidney harbor, spouting how good things are going in Iraq. Today, 9 Marines died there, and suicide bombers killed at least 93...you don't actually know coz more will die from there wounds in days/weeks to come. Yup, it's going GREAT, Cheney!!
p.s. We might be cell-mates in Guantanomo if i keep talking like this!! lol

Australia is also called a 'special partner' of NATO as well, and there is an actually PS/historical term to define co-operation between Australia and the United States, called the Special Relationship.
I wouldn't know if pushing/shoving occured to get some people to follow us in, but a lot of people (and I think Australia is included...I don't know fubb and co. would know better) pledged support because they were given a different image of what everything was like in contrast to the reality that it is...which we can see Cheney is still trying to do, though it's quite clear we have different definitions of 'great' like you said, Tony.
Hell, I'll join ya'...I was looking to score some Cubans anyway (both cigars and women).

Actually, Hitler WAS a combat veteran of WW1; frontline, trench action. He was wounded too-gassed, ironically..

Yeah, Hitler was a veteran...actually was wounded like 11 times in combat, and was known for taking suicide messenger missions...if anything that should of been a beacon that he was off his rocker to begin with.
Saddam was actually probably worse off than Hitler as far as military duty...when he was younger and before his dictator days, he was a guerilla Ba'ath insurgent, and enforcer to the Chairman of the party...so there was several times he could've been killed before he rose to power (which was a lot of luck really...kinda' in the same way Stalin rose to power).

........i did see it on HBO, and it's hardcore reality of man killing man. I saw something else about "Letters From Iraq", i think on HBO, and it was families reading the last letter home from their son or daughter before they were killed. The PAIN is overwhelming, and makes me hate the leaders that hide in the shadows, or lead us blindly with bullshit. They have no real-knowledge of the consequences of their decisions.
