Yeah, the news is pretty much doomed, I'll agree with ya' there...hasn't been the same since Murrow was running the show.
Technology IS a double-edged sword...it can do great good (such as maybe repair damaged nerve/muscle from SCIs and other 'ailments'), it can do great evil (Nuclear Weapons, anyone? (then again...evil v. good is just two different point of views)).

Valkyr, in that avatar you look like an old time Hollywood star; Lana Turner or Veronica Lake or Garbo... LOL... and that's because I usually dont know what to do with the long hair!! LOL!! I don't think we must blame the cience/tecnology... we must blame the human beings. If you invent a good thing to help the human kind but then a son of a b**ch come and use your invention to create a deadly weapon... is not the cience or tecnology fault. It's the human nature.

Hell, I'm as corrupted as anybody...I love the modern times!! I'm just saying that humans are too smart for our own good. And while the news does focus on the bad, it doesn't erase the fact there is a great amount of bad going on. If I was an alien from another planet who was studying people over the past 1,000 years, I'd say humans have done a terrible job of caring about each other, or treating the planet they live on with any respect. Although I must say, 'there is great good in this world, too, and Bono (U2 fame) is an example of a human who really cares about others, and works tirelessly to make a better world.
Val...I'm curious as to how disabled people are treated in your country. I've heard that chairdudes are treated as outcasts in some countries. USA has done a lot to smooth out this image with laws, and to a certain degree, media, but I wonder about the World.

I'm not speaking for other people...but yes, Tony, you'd be surprised in other countries...not many countries have stepped up to the plate to give disabled citizens equal rights as the non-disabled. From what I was told a lot of North African nations are pretty behind in that aspect...the disabled are still viewed as 'lame' or 'invalid' (though apparently Oral-B thinks the same) and stay in bed or sit out on the streets, filling the role of 'handicap'...
P.S. Also would like to add that I have actually been to Argentina, and the places I went didn't seem too bad...but they were generally very modern buildings...I heard some of the older buildings were more formidable. People seemed helpful as well.
