Stumbled upon and read Play action pass by Gina ardito yesterday. Nothing particularly devvy but ex football player now a para and ex gf hate each other and get thrown back into each other lives. It was a cute quick romancy read I read that recently. It was cute, but nothing that really stood out! Also on Kindle Unlimited, if I recall. I have started reading the M/M series Irons and Works, also on Kindle Unlimited. The first features a Deaf love interest and the second focuses on a para protagonist. It took a bit to get past the suspension of disbelief that a bunch of differently disabled guys (something like 12 total with Deaf, PTSD, para, amp, brain damage, etc.) could all make a good living running a tattoo parlor in an idyllic small Colorado town. And it wasn't the disability thing... But how many tattoo artists can a small town really sustain?!?! But the series is well written and HOT for anyone looking for a steamy read!

Does this iron series need to be read in order?

Does this iron series need to be read in order? I have only read the first two, but even with those, I think you do. They are a lot of references that you'd not understand to previous events that could get confusing. But... If you are just reading it for the sexy factor, you're probably skimming over plot details anyway!

Does this iron series need to be read in order? Yea, I think so too. Lots of involvement of past characters as you go along

I need help! I'm on a dev high and I'm looking for any scrap to read with PWD characters, be it novels, comics, anything. But I went through the suggestions here and either I already read them or they're mostly romance and I can't stand the genre... Any crime, sci fi or fantasy stuff with a PWD characters? Blind or amputee potentially?

It is fan-fic, very hit-and-miss, but all is searchable by tags: archiveofourown.org/works/search There are 8367 works tagged with blindness: shorturl.at/cmwZ2 5002 tagged amp: shorturl.at/tuGH0

Slinxter I appreciate the suggestion, unfortunately I have a bad relationship with AO3... it constantly disappoints me, it’s 99% erotica and/or fluff which are not necessarily my cup of tea. I lose my patience going through dozens of bad soft porn to find one good story. Please don’t hate on me I know it’s a controversial opinion. I ordered the Neve&Egan books so I hope those will quench my thirst for now, but any suggestion is welcome.

Blind or amputee potentially? Sci fi/fantasy- Check out Graceling by Kristen Cashore (author name might be spelled wrong). A character becomes blind part way through. Only the first book in the series was any good, in my opinion. Another series I liked that had a short blindness stint was the Cinder series... Book 3- Cress. It is based on Rapunzel and like the original story, the love interest goes temporarily blind. Catwoman: Soul Stealer by Sarah J Maas- has a main character with PTSD The Hunger Games books 2 and 3- Peeta is an amp but not particularly devvy Finding Himself by Minisinoo- Harry Potter fanfiction that follows the plot of Book 5 with an injured but alive Cedric (wheelchair and crutches). One of my face dev reads when I am on a high! Tower of Dawn by Sarah J Maas- it's the 6th (I think) book in her Throne of Glass series and follow a main character after he was made a para through a magical attack. The entire series is amazing in itself, so worth reading! Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo- lots of different types of disability in a heist themed fantasy novel Crime/Thriller Mission Canyon by Meg Gardiner- unravels the mystery of how Jesse Blackburn, love interest, was injured- para. It's book 2 in the series and definitely a series worth reading since Jesse is a main character across all 5(?) Books

I've only watched a few episodes and had no problem understanding anything in the series. A romance that I don't think has been mentioned in this thread is "Connection Error"- gaymers #4. I only read this book in the series and follows an amp. might be worth checking out! Most of my reads default to para, but I hope this helps you get through your high!

Graceling is great! It's a YA novel. The devvy scene is tiny and only comes at the very very end but it's such a good book anyway. I read the two sequels too. There's a third sequel that just came out but I haven't read it yet. The blind character only shows up very briefly in the other books but I still enjoyed them.
And if you haven't read Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse yet, I highly recommend it.

Thank you Celaena! I will look through your suggestions! Really appreciated! I wasn’t really interested in Six of Crows until you said “fantasy heist” and now I’m sold! devogirl I preordered Black Sun because the paperback is not available in the UK until June, and I don’t read stuff on kindle... sucks to be a book hoarder!

Ah, that's too bad! I know queenkala said the same thing. It is possible to open an Amazon US account though. I have Amazon UK and JP accounts even with a US credit card.
I mentioned it in this thread already but I highly recommend The Queen of Attolia. The main character gets his right hand cut off near the beginning of the novel, and it's about him learning to deal with that, but it's not the standard injury/recovery story at all. It's such a good book and I loved the entire series. It's mainly action/political intrigue, very light on the relationship angle, with no sex at all.
