Making breakfast to this, yes the lyrics aren't very positive, but the music is so bouncy!

Tomorrow 13th February is 50 years since the release of 'Black Sabbath'
Something that not lots of people know is that Tony Iommi developed the sound that would later become known as heavy metal, after losing the tips of his fingers in an industrial accident. He made plastic tips for his fingers so he could continue to play, and due to his limitations started using a lot of vibrato and developed the tritone 'Devils Chord' due to having difficulty using all 4 fingers.
I went and saw them a couple of years ago and they have still got it!

He was also inspired by the fantastic Django Reinhart, who lost the use of 3 of his fingers in a fire and had to retrain himself to play using only two.

I'm just posting this tune as a response to those in society who tend to judge devs in a negative light. Whatever it takes, I'm going to fight for dev rights just as much as I do for disability rights, dammit!

I have been listening to Wagner in the car this week driving to and from work. No idea how to link it like you guys do. Most annoying though is when listening on spotify and I get kicked off when my other half or one of the kids decides to play their own stuff. Grrrr!

Listening to one of my faves by Staind. I like the overall message of resilience and the strength to carry on, expressed in this tune.

Back then, you never really thought about anything, you just lived and you were always surrounded by nice female interns....
Anyway, this is the song that comes to my mind.
We were listening to it all the time when it came out.

Anyone remember Walk off the Earth? They went viral like 8 years ago with the "5 peeps 1 guitar" cover of Gotye's "Somebody that I Used to Know" ( here if you're interested) I randomly thought about them earlier this week and have been revisiting their stuff. They have some really cool and creative covers, and also originals. Thought I'd share a couple of my favorites

That's right, and you can identify Levi Stubbs immediately when he starts singing. You have to search a long time nowadays for someone like him.
Unfortunately, I don't know much about the individual band members. But yes I also loved their music from the beginning.
My father showed me their songs, as he did with many other bands. I am still grateful to him for it.
He also loved The Temptations and especially that song:

@baresqueezelover83 that is awesome, I am also super thankful there was always music in my house, lots of oldies and classics especially. My dad still has hundreds of vinyl records lol, he collects them from thrift stores
There was a great autobiographical mini series here in the States called "The Temptations" that came out in the late 90s, I would highly recommend if you haven't seen it (and if you can find it). It's based on Otis Williams' autobiography, but you get all the music and dancing in the mini series, nice added bonus lol
You got me on a Motown kick lol. Now I'm listening to Marvin Gaye. Absolute legend
Also love this video, kinda transports you back in time

Yes, it is! Seems like we have a lot in common there.
My father had a quite cool vinyl collection himself. Unfortunately, but he also had the bad luck to borrow some beautiful pieces to unreliable people... Oh, thank you for the tip! I don't know the mini-series yet... Otherwise I would have remembered it. Let's see if I can found it. I know this stuff is highly contagious. Yeah, Marvin Gaye made great music too! I also like his songs with Tammi Terell. I got one more groove monster for you: Get Ready was also first written for The Temptations. I like their version of it as well. But what Rare Earth did here is absolutely gigantic! Enjoy listening!
