So far, I have not seen a thread for this one.
What is your favorite genre of music? Why?
I like Hard Rock 'n Roll. It keeps me going when things get tough!!

I like all sorts of genres, but I'll just say that my top seven favorite artists are Bad Religion, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Social Distortion, Atmosphere, NOFX, Johnny Cash, and Leningrad (a Russian band).
AgainstMe, Amy Winehouse, Sublime, and Cranberries come in close. M.C. Chris, too!

i always have trouble with this question coz my likes are all over the place. I'll throw some artists out, but this is only a handful.
Sting/Police,robin trower, praxis, stevie Ray Vaughan, tupac, steve walsh/kansas, the shins, paco de lucia, alice in chains, mars volta, little steven, jackson browne, elvis costello, crack the sky, dylan, zeppelin....the 80s, nirvana, indie pop/rock, bluegrass, ethnic stuff
Music is definitely my escapism, fantasy, lover...

Genre's: Wow there are many that I like (cold-wave, classiscal, hard-core punk, post-punk, classic rock and Motown). In my CD player right now: Joy Division, Cocteau Twins, Buzzcocks, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Zeppelin and Mozart. Now that's pretty all over the place.

Wow! Isn't it cool how music bonds all of us together somehow. I would have to say that I like other kinds of music as well. I am pretty open minded. Although, Rap tends to get on my nerves after awhile. Other than that, it depends on my mood too.

it's weird...the older i get(almost 45) the less music interests me. i used to be HEAVY, heavy into reggae and dub when i was in my 20's...and still *like* stuff like that-bassy and trancy and trippy; but i'd never voluntarily, on my own listen to any music now, really. honestly, i prefer silence. i don't think i even own any music now, just some old cassettes.
deep quiet is under-rated.

DMB, Foo Fighters, Counting Crows, Beck, Natalie Merchant ... the list goes on but my goddess is Julia Fordham This list deserves much praise. I've been on a Natalie Merchant kick lately. I just repurchased Ophelia after having lost it years ago. I saw Foo Fighters live a few months ago. Totally amazing. And Beck... Que onda, guedo?
