Pluss the Texas ADA laws are even stricter than the Fed. laws so it is really gimp accessable... Strange, I thought it was far worse in Texas. I could not find any accessible cabs in Dallas. wow that is strange... when were you there? and to poke a bit of fun who needs a cab if the state helps you buy and convert a car, truck, or van.....

Early August. Ended up with Super Shuttle, which had me concerned because what if my flight is late?!? But I was pleasantly surprised.

FL, so far away, Cal I just dont know. Need mountains and sea. Last winter was my first real snow experiance, not to bad. Used to so look forward to the snow and cold, but a differant game now. The people in AK are the ones that make this place so great. Break down on the side of the road and 99% of the time the first car to come by stops. Very few hitch-hikers because they get rides so fast. I like the country but want to be close to all the cool stuff that a city has to offer. And the 60/40 guys to girls is on a good day. They say about AK guys" the odds are good, but the goods are odd" We say about AK girls" you dont lose your girlfriend, just your turn" You ever think about trying out Texas... I love it here. Pluss the Texas ADA laws are even stricter than the Fed. laws so it is really gimp accessable...I should know I am a gimp first class and i go everyhwere and the Texas Dept. fro Rehab. Just put a $20,000.00 lift into my house and they are now in the process of helping me with converting my truckand all that... it is a slow but sure process plus the weathere here is good I am just south west of Dallas Ft. Worth and it is really nice. Jesus...Texas does help the chair-people ($20,000 lift/van conversion???). Florida is completely the opposite. It takes an act of God to get them to do anything...i had to get a loan to convert my van, they did zero on housing. in fact, i lived in very unaccessible apts for years...i couldn't get Voc Rehab to fix my van-lift, and i work. And no help for PCA. I love living here coz the weather, beaches, my job, but if you need the state to help in any area, you're fucked coz Florida is the worst in the country for human services. They are greedy, taxing the hell out of everybody, very poor services and busy making it a land specifically for rich baby boomers to move here from Northeast. the middle class is being shoved out of my county to make room for high-priced condos. Thank the Gods i started buying my house before the values skyrocketed...

Mayhaps you noobs down there might consider voting for the other party this time? You know, Blue state, Red state sort of thing.
Now what on earth has this to do with meeting Devogals?

Now what on earth has this to do with meeting Devogals? I guess they just gave it up (alas - we cannot compete with local politics), or prefer to remain in the "devogals are a fairytale" phase.

I think the only way really is online on groups like this.
It is easy to go to accessible places like shopping malls and wheel around looking for people who are showing a lot of interest as I push by, but then again it could be just the "pity"looks or "wonder why he is in the wheelchair"!

Matisse is right. And when you see someone sitting by her lonesome, don't assume she's there to watch her man. She might be there looking for a friendly wheeler guy.
