Those home-made weapons are pretty impressive, I've actually fired similar things before.
Back in the 90's before the ceasefire with the PIRA I did a tour of Northern Ireland and the IRA were/are experts at producing home-made weapons just like these.
Some of the weapons we came across were equally scary and impressive. From home-made pistols, light machine guns and sniper rifles to grenades made from coffee jars and even RPG like missiles that used a packet of biscuits to dampen the recoil!
Just about every weapon and tactic used by terrorist organisation now-a-days was developed or invented by PIRA. Obviously apart from blowing yourself up, even PIRA weren't that crazy. It almost makes me nostalgic, they were evil murdering terrorists, but damn, they were a better class of evil murdering terrorists.

Yes, the one made from easily obtainable hardware store items looks like the old WW2 German 'burp gun'...not dinky at all.
But I wonder if it would really hold up to sustained use-or might it be dangerous to fire since the materials aren't really meant for that kind of stress.
What's your level of injury Andy-it looks pretty low from those pics.

Forgot to say how it amuses me how far this thread has deviated. -Moving across the country/world for the "right" one. -How different people make their beds. -OCD. -House cleaning. -PC vs. Mac. -New stuff for the Mac. -And now, homemade weapons and the politics of gun control. Yes, it has covered a wide range. However, read back through pretty much any of the threads that are longer than 3 pages. They all end up deviating from the original subject.

And look at that old 'ironsides' battleship of a wheelchair. That home gunsmith guy lives in Britain. I've never been there, but from what I've read and heard it's way too liberal for my tastes. It'd be one thing if they banned weapons AND were very tough on violent offenders too. But my understanding is that they're not; that criminals are given every advantage thanks to a socialistic, leftist mindset which seeks to not hold people responsible for their misdeeds. Not here, by God!

Speaking of weapons. Has anyone ever tasted Ted Nugent's meat? Supposedly, you can't beat his meat.
That just didn't come out right, did it? Maybe I should link this back to the 4th of July, available gay man thread.

lol, just had a flashback when the 'Lisa' was the thing lol...heard support was horrible back then...
...yeah, Apple is the undisputed leader in Tech. Tech. Support (intentionally repeated twice), but that wouldn't convert me to a mac...when they can run faster than my rig (they can't), and are cheaper to buy than my rig (surprisingly they aren't) and allow me to 100% tinker with them, and they have a better software selection that won't require your first born as a deposit, then perhaps, just perhaps I may buy one...but honestly, with they way they're going...they're morphing into a demi-PC anyway.
I think if Apple marketed themselves right, they could dominate the consumer-user industry, but I can't see them breaking successfully into the business-user industry...I mean there is the whole 'video-editing' aspect of them, which is a sliver (and can be equaled by a PC) of the industry...but that's sorta' been their aim/problem at the same time...Big Blue and alternatives (typically Compaq) were able to better cater to the businesses.
SuSe Linux ruled though...only if an operating system could refine upon that deadly combo.

MacPro: TWO, 3.0GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon (8 Cores!) 16GB of RAM. 3TBs of HDD TWO, 30inch Cinema Displays THIS is what I will use to take over the world, as soon as I get the necessary $16,000, and my tropical island lair with fake volcano landing pad Bang Parralells or VM on it and use Mac OS, Windows, Linux, Dogtail or anything you want on it!

I tried parallels, it still needs some work but is promising. Maybe I'll try it again, there is a new version now that's getting really good reviews.
I really don't need a ton of power. I do no gaming. My only processor intensive tasks are compressing video files and making simple DVDs.
I do think that Apple's decision to go with the Intel chips is going to have a long term huge impact. It's going to get easier and easier to just have your cake and eat it too, which given the difference in market share now, means Apple's is no doubt going to increase. Parallels came out really quick, in a year it will be fantastic.

Myself, I use HAL9000 refitted with a bio-drive WetWare liquid processor, along with a T1000 neural net for parallels. My IP is Skynet, of course...

lol, Tri, you just entered my cool book... ...actually in Belgium there is an ISP called SkyNet. . lol I was just on Apple the other night and saw that...it actually is still somewhat inferior to the maximum ability of my most powerful rig (and I thought it was 18.000, not 16...) Also, the GPU selection is pitiful...Quad NVIDIA 8800GTX's, now that's what I'm talking about. I don't have a physical octo-core yet, but I'm running an array, so it's actually running faster (not to mention I'm overclocked)...and I can hook up eight 60" displays (only have a 42" though lol) ...but the that rig setup is for a rich business owner...and that's something that would be relegated to a server role, and no IT guy's gonna' want to have that as a server. Most people that are gonna' buy an Apple are going to be the average Joe, or lite business user. Oh yes, Andy...and you're officially known as Dr. No from now on. Just tell me what island so I know where to tell the SBS to go. U R not t3h l337!!!!!1111oneoneone
