Oh sure, The Chandy story is amazing, and I begrudgingly admit, they look like one hot couple, but here's my paradevo hook-up...uh, I got Door #3 !! lol Remember 'The Godfatha', Triassic?

Is Triassic dead? Or does he just refuse to actually sign up, and now he can't post at all because of the members only policy? ... that barbie doll in a wheelchair ya' had! I had one of those. Only it wasn't as TERRIBLE as the one Tony posted. It was one of those American Girl dolls that you could order all sorts of crap for like outfits, food, pets, etc. However, I ended up ordering mine (this is age 11, I guess) with a little blue wheelchair. There's no telling what my dad thought about that.

Wow, now that's interesting to me...so you really were attracted to people, even dolls, in 'chairs from that early age? Did your parents ever wonder why you wanted the doll in a 'chair? I thought they only made them for kids in chairs for the identity, self-esteem thang.
As for the 'Godfatha', Triassic, he's doing well, just saw him today. We sat in the park for some talk and sitting in warm Sun. I tried to talk him into joining and posting, but he basically doesn't feel the desire anymore. According to him, once he realized he wasn't going to meet anyone on here he lost interest. My theory is signing up is a 'long-term' commitment, and that comes with huge obligations and responsibilities.

So glad to hear that Triassic's doing well. I have wondered where he went many times. Tell him Claire said hi. He always asked such interesting questions. For most of us (devs and people with BIID both) it goes way back to early childhood. Here's a scan of diary entry from age 10: transabled.org/thoughts/dear-diary.htm But my first memory goes back to age 5. My very first "sexual" experience when I was 13 - I had just hit puberty - had to do with a para. I had read in a teen magazine that it was possible to make yourself have an orgasm. They even told you how to do it! That intrigued me so I tried it, but all I could think of the whole time were the paralyzed legs and the wheelchair of a handsome para of my acquaintance. But I had a fascination that existed even before I hit puberty.

It always amazes me that the fascination is there from such an earl age with little, or no, relationship with a chairdude. At the risk of exposing too much, I will say this, 'Soon after I got hurt there were girls who suddenly became interested in me, including a young girl about 13 who was a neighbor to a family I lived with before my wreck. She would come over everyday, even call me. I was 21, and and I could tell I was hurting her feelings if I was spending time talking to other girls. She never acted like this before I got hurt, but suddenly she had a fascination with me. Anyway, now I wonder if she grew up to be a devo... who knows! There were other, older girls, that became extremely attracted, too, so I thought it must be a 'sympathy', or 'maternal' emotion in girls. I don't know...

ok I just read all of theese and I have IM'd with a few of the guys from the board, and I'd like there to be more... I finally met a really great quad, but there are HUGE obstacles in our relationship (distance not being one). I'd even go for a meeting with a whheler on the board, but I don't fly.

I thought they only made them for kids in chairs for the identity, self-esteem thang. oh gawd, tony. there were no "dolls in chairs" when i was growing up. i had to improvise. i had these lounge chairs i used to push my barbies around in, pretending they were wheelchairs. they lived in a 3-floor townhouse which conveniently had an elevator! lol like many of the other devs (it seems) disability was always of major interest since a young age with (for me) no known triggers. it didn't become sexual in any way until i did.
