I apparently haven't posted in over two years, but I'm back to discuss Die Toten von Salzburg! I just finished the fifth one today (Wolf im Schafspelz). It has been my favorite so far, but also the WORST. Boston?! I really liked Angela as a match for Palfinger. They were intellectual equals and both outstanding in their own fields (ignoring the weirdly unethical patient relationship in episode 4, but we'll forget about that for now). It looks like there will at least be two more: Schwanengesang and Chinagirl. I suppose I will have to patiently wait for the next two. Any thoughts? I'm not a native German speaker, so I'm sure there is plenty that I missed.

I this a movie, book, TV show or something else? It's a TV movie series. Each episode is 90 minutes and there are 5 so far. It has been mentioned on the Movie List thread a few times, so you might recognize it. (I must not have been paying enough attention to Movie List, because I just found it for the first time in July.) The good news is that it's all on YouTube right now!

Hi Celeste! I love this show. Love love love. At last, knowing German has some good use. haha I didn't read all of your post because I don't want any spoilers—I've only watched the first two episodes (I think) in the wrong order. Are all 5 full episodes on YouTube? I can only sadly seem to find two.

Hey mili ! Unfortunately, the YouTube videos that I used to watch the series were taken down. I am not sure where else to watch them. There is a list of episodes here (so you can figure out which ones you have seen): de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Die_Toten_von_Salzburg_(Fernsehreihe)I have a minor in German, and what do I do with it?? Watch German TV, I guess.

Thanks! I have been using that list to figure it out and am jumping around a bit. Just watching what is available on YouTube.
Haha German devo TV is a great use of your minor! It's actually an Austrian show, and the accent and dialect are so heavy it's hard to follow sometimes. Also, the character that spoke in half German/half English made me smile every time. The whole series is gold.

Hello. In case the Germans haven‘t heard, the sixth episode is on zdf on January 27th, 20:15! For those who can watch the zdf mediathek online, it should be there, too. Was on orf2 about a week ago, so maybe already there. (Austrian tv).

Bad news: It has already been taken down (or potentially restricted by location). I only watched about 30 minutes.

Good news for the German people ant those who receive German TV:
You can already watch the new movie “Treibgut” in the “ZDF Mediathek”. The show will be on TV in ZDF on Wednesday August 11, 2021.

Bad News: The lead actor has been indicted on child pornography possession and apparently pleads guilty. Trial starts early February (and probably won't be very long). I'm not sure if any more episodes had been planned, but if they had, I'm assuming this would be the end of it.
