Wow, number 3 is horrible, bad vibes for sure. It's very sad to read stuff like that, it always hurts so much. And if this was the first thing you read about devotees, I am sorry and I am glad you came here. Does anyone else know this guy? Never heard of him.

He's quite cute and I'm very sad to hear about how he feels about devs.

I feel if someone writes stuff like that, they have had a possible rejection experience and he is now bitter against all devs. It's very sad and difficult to read how he puts this out to the disabled community. Seeing negative stuff like that about devs always hurts. His post does strike me as slightly odd anyways, because he already anticipates rejection because of his disability when dating.

Hi ennia, welcome and I hope you enjoy it here.
I wonder what basis he makes such statements about devs, has he actually had negative experiences or is he just repeating the stereotypes?
I am always intrigued when PWD guys make these statements about devs. They seek people to have a relationship with, hoping their disability won't be an issue, yet reject the group most likely to embrace the disability as part of the relationship.
In my admittedly very limited experience of talking to PWD men about attraction and relationships acceptance of being found desirable by others and acceptance of devoteeism comes with acceptance of their disability by themselves.

Hi and welcome AGood thing that you found us. I can only agree to what Dani said, point 3 is horrible. It makes me sad that there are guys out there who think like that. He either must have had a bad experience or heard from someone who had bad experiences. I wish he’d find us here also and would take the chance to change his opinion.

Well, first of all, a very warm welcome, Ennia! I second that Now, considering this article you shared, supposedly containing "invaluable advice for online dating with a disability" (lol)... Dafuq is he even talking about? I mean, he says himself, and I quote, "I’ve only run into this one time, but be vigilant!" Yeaaah.. that's like a young girl being groped at a nightclub, coming home, telling all her friends how "extremely sick and disgusting" men happen to be, and advises anyone to become a lesbian immediately. He's jumping to (very harsh) conclusions, based on nothing really. I wonder why – because judging by his pic he appears to be a somewhat decent guy actually. But that's just rude and unempathic behavior, over-generalizing and -simplifying stuff he (admittedly) doesn't have a clue about. So, you better do your homework, and come here to apologize Mr. Wood! Thanks for sharing your very meaningful insights though. One should be honest, careful, date someone that makes sense and, of course "have fun". Mind = blown. I'm so happy right now, because suddenly it all comes together! I would've never thought about it that way, if it weren't for you <3 C'mon guys (and gals) – how can you possibly be offended by something like this? Opinions are fine, and I do very well understand why his can be hurtful to some of you, but I personally disregard anything that comes across as utter BS, which is clearly the case here. Welcome to the internet of sh*t where suddenly every "snowflake" matters (even the bad and toxic ones)! All I'm saying is don't take this too serious, pretty please. Be mindful about whose words you care about. That's something everyone owes to themselves.
