So that's why they do the funny walk when they see you...?
I thought there was another reason for that...

So wheelers..."How do you spot a dev? ?" take a marker and put a spot on their clothing?

Is spotting a dev even a feasible. Is there some level of uniqueness associated with devs? If someone has a methodology for finding devs, please help a bro out and share the wealth.

Maybe us chicks can all have the handicapped symbol tattooed somewhere obvious (any suggestions from the wheelers? ) - should make dev-spotting a bit easier

there IS nevertheless a 'dev look.' or rather, there's a certain WAY some chicks look at you which is a tip off.
it's been a long time-about 2 years i think-since i've gotten that devo vibe.
-sometimes it will be a kind of searching, flustered look. or several brief, repeated looks. when i was younger i used to interpret this as that she was dismayed to have to be near a crip, since this look may not include a smile.
-or it can be a kind of tentative smile...it's hard to describe. you always run the risk of interpreting any smile as devish; or you can over-analyze.
-sometimes it's almost a psychic thing; you just *know* somehow. once i was just sitting out by the road in front of my house around sunset. a car turned the corner and drove by me. as it did, the girl in the back seat looked at me and raised her hand in a little wave. i gave her a nod and a smile. i couldnt even see her clearly and the encounter took seconds...but i'd wager money she was a devotee.

really, come to think of it, a devo would probably completely ignore a disabled guy she found really attractive.. i used to do that if i found myself in the presence of a woman i was very attracted to. i hardly dared look at her.

triassic you are very right there, ok when i see a wheeler not that i have seen that much, i try as hard as i can not to look interested or look at him i will anywhere but at him yet still checking him out. or like you said they will have this flustered look and probably a shy smile on their face, that would be how i will probably look. dont know about the other ladies

That is great..but what about for us dumb guys? Go to wheeler sporting events, or places where lots of PT's hang out. Then just keep an eye out. I've never been to either, but from discussions here it seems like there are a disproportionate number of devs in those areas so you increase your chances of running into one. I have only ever spotted one dev, but she was *extremely* obvious about it. I didn't know about devs at the time, so it's just in hindsight that it seems pretty clear.

yes, they can be quite obvious. i remember an incident that occurred 10 years ago in ybor city-tampa's party district. two buddies and i were making our way down 7th ave, the main drag which was crowded with drunkards on the sidewalk and cars cruising slowly in the street; a typical saturday night. then this chick leans out of a car window and screams at me "you need love too, baby!!' weird, huh?
