I don't have the most popular job these days but after many years I still like what I'm doing: I'm a banker.

I'm a nurse. Have been for 30 yrs. Prior to that I've waitressed, cleaned houses and condos, flagger, planted grass on a golf course, counted trucks ( yea really a job). I was 16.
As a nurse I've worked hospice, med/surg, mental health, nursing home, Max security men's prison and now in a clinic. Have never been dull. ;-)

In my job I'm a hero to many, a villain to some. I work as a Sysadmin for the local government. These three weeks with a bonus responsibility of running the service desk department to cover the absence of their usual boss. Kind of scary.

My intent was not to create a debate or make anyone uncomfortable./ So much of our lives is defined by what we do. Just want to know what others on here are up to. FWIW: I hate my job lol That's interesting. I know quite a bunch of lawyers who'd say that. I gotta say I feel a bit better about what I do since I started my own firm.

I currently don't work. I'm looking for a job though. I'm trying to find something outside of my home so I can actually interact with people face to face. I was actually thinking about seeing how modeling would work out something on the side. I've been told I have a purdy face.
I've done quite a bit of unpaid things. I've done internet radio/podcasting and I've written for a accesible gaming advocacy website.

I work in a clinic and see how many, especially elderly have no one to even talk to. They become so isolated from family and friends as health deteriorates. Big need there

I'm a full time union representative, I do love a good argument and fighting for the rights of workers I've an evening job as an escort for ladies of a particular para persuasion, but that's voluntary, sometimes it's not about money but job satisfaction, I'm nice like that As another full time working para who is a bit younger than you (I think) I ask myself if it's getting harder with the years. Do you have the feeling that it's getting more exhausting over the years? Physical I mean.

Oof, I've done a lot over the years and my path has been far from linear. I started out wanting to do physical therapy, but ended up studying psychology instead, thinking I'd become a professor eventually. All but finished with my master's thesis, I switched gears and decided to pursue a joint doctorate in forensic psych and law (after a very brief stint in a sign language interpreter program). The program threw students into a year of law school before proceeding into a tandem program of study, during which time the economy tanked. I loved law, so I finished my degree and carry a license in one state, with another just within my grasp (awaiting the approval of my moral character application). During this time I've worked for a chocolatier, taught SAT prep courses, sold and conducted tours on Segways, waited tables, did applied behavioral therapy for children with autism and play therapy for at-risk youth in elementary schools, was a law clerk for the civil litigation division of a disability rights clinic, helped state hospital residents petition for writs of habeas corpus, did legal research for a clinic that helped domestic workers attain compensation for years of practical indentured servitude, and was the manager of a music and arts studio. Now, as I await an attorney position to open up at the non-profit of my dreams (a disability rights clinic I fell in love with the moment I started volunteering), I work as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the state government. I help people with disabilities attain their educational and vocational goals. The pay stinks for the amount of work and stress you are under on a day-to-day basis, but I love my clients and I'm learning so much! Everyday is a new challenge, so it definitely keeps things interesting.
