I am a business development manager for a dispenser company and feel like I'm trapped in a fire and can't get out. I long for the life of Pony and being able to smoke weed and fuck off if I want. Do something to help my fellow man to provide spiritual fulfillment. I am so tired of working for da man.

I'm an elementary teacher. (I feel the need to specify that I am a Canadian teacher...from what I understand the job is lower paying and more looked down upon in some countries. In Canada it is a good paying and generally respected job). I'm also a mom to one toddler which is somehow way more exhausting than teaching 27 six year olds.

I do think that in some cases what you do as a career or your education can cause unfair judgement and or discrimination in some ways... People judge you by what you know and what you do.... Case in point... I'm a stay at home Mom... I have no degree... I tried to get one a few times but life and such just got in the way... I always wanted to be a stay at home Mom so i kind of have my dream job Now i'm in a situation where I need to change life and i kind of feel forced to get some formal education and choose a career so i have some hope of leaving my present situation (unhappy emotionally abusive marriage) and an opportunity to believe my life could be better, could be different. I have no idea or inclination towards anything at this point really. Hi i'm 36 and i don't know what i want to be when i grow up its frustrating but all that to say... i feel oftentimes my lack of work experience and education means people automatically assume i'm "less"... less intelligent, less motivated, less knowledgable... etc etc... but interacting in every day life with peers and in social situations... I'm effing Hermione about some things and people respect me because i have information that is beneficial to them... I'd like to think and hope that after a time talking to me people would realize i have viable skills and intelligence to offer a situation even tho i lack a fancy piece of paper that says i sat in a desk for so many hours and it bothers me how sometimes people regard people more highly because of a degree than someone without it... It is an "easy conversation" but its a conversation that can also be divisive etc etc... ya know seeking a "college educated" person in a personal ad for example... you could be missing out on some really well rounded intelligent people who have valuable life experience beyond whats taught in a classroom but they might not respond to you because you've said "College educated" and or you might disregard them because they're not and miss out... I feel like i'm preaching to the choir a bit lol You can do anything you want if you are dedicated enough. As a school teacher we are constantly in school. As long as you have a focused goal you can do it.

I'm a drop out recovery teacher. I work with kids between 16-21 who have dropped out of regular school. They work on classes online and I tutor them face to face. I also teach a class on job hunting and resume writing. Most of the time they just want to talk to me about their lives. They see that I haven't had it easy either.
