Hi everyone! My name's Ingrid, I'm 32 and from Connecticut. Last week I finally thought about googling why I'm attracted to men in wheelchairs or who have lost their legs because for some reason I felt like I was strange or weird because of it. And I was please to find out that I'm not strange or weird but that there are other people out there who feel the same way. So now I don't feel so alone or different about it. You guys are actually the first people I've ever told! Anyways, I work in a hospital as a phlebotomist and am going to school to become an RN if I ever finish! Hopefully I'll get to know some of you and make some new friends

Welcome Ingrid. I hate having my blood taken so I have great admiration for phlebotomists who are good at their job and distract me whilst they are doing their work! Hope you enjoy inter-acting on the site.

Welcome to PD Ingrid, cool name... It's cool you found us, you will have lots of reading here on PD. I also work in a hospital as a Pharm Tech, sometimes I have some good sightings. Do you see a lot of nice looking wheelers?

Welcome to PD Ingrid, cool name... It's cool you found us, you will have lots of reading here on PD. I also work in a hospital as a Pharm Tech, sometimes I have some good sightings. Do you see a lot of nice looking wheelers? Actually, I started googling about my attraction to men with disabilities because of a guy I drew blood from in the emergency department about a week or so ago, he was so handsome and sweet... and a super hard stick so I spent a lot of time with him warming up his arms to find find a good vein. If it wasn't frowned upon to hit on your paients I would have tried to flirt with him but I don't want to lose my job lol! I work in patient 3rd shift so I only get to meet patients while they are laying in bed so I really can't even tell if someone has the use of their legs or not but this guy couldn't use his arms at all so I could tell right away he had some sort of disability that effected the use of his limbs. I wanted to spend the rest of my shift with him...i doubt I will ever get to meet him again. So yeah even if my job exposed me to more men I'm interested in it really doesn't make a huge difference cuz I can't even flirt with them to see if their interested lol

Welcome! I live in Oklahoma now, but I’m very familiar with the East Coast. I went to school in Pennsylvania, and my brother lives with his family in CT.
Thanks for joining our community!

As a quad, it’s obviously more noticeable to people in this situation that I’m disabled but people still miss it. I get asked to make a fist when having my blood drawn almost every time, even in my chair. I’m guessing it’s just a standard question? People usually get unnecessarily apologetic when I tell them I can’t. Thankfully it’s not that often because I’m not the biggest fan of needles. I do usually get a good laugh once they see my cripple card tattoo, though and that lightens the mood. Oh, welcome.

That's exactly why I say "make a fist if you can" lol Honestly making a fist doesn't really help all that much anyway.

Where in Pennsylvania did you go to school? My brother went to Penn state for a bit until he got homesick. I visited him once and thought College State was a beautiful place in the fall.
