The fit is far more important than type of chair.
I had a friend who was quite short but didn't want to be so low to the ground.... So he bought this ridiculously too high wheelchair off eBay. Yeah, he was higher... But his center of gravity was WAAYY off.
Another guy I knew was way too tall/long for his chair and couldn't figure why curb hops were so difficult for him.
Guys.... Get fitted!! And then get the fit double-checked after the chair is delivered.
Also, don't be assholes when someone asks you about it.
As for push handles, eh. I'm not a fan just because people will be more tempted to grab them.
Also, cleanliness and upkeep matter. Duct tape? No. Dirt and hair wound up in spokes or castors? Nope. Unidentified crap splashed/smudged on rims/bars... Well, I've found actual crap... So that's a big hell no.
And please, please change and wash your cushion covers frequently. Probably more frequently than you think you need to. See above... *shudder*
Ok. Rant over.
As long as the chair fits well and is clean, the style matters little. Unless it's a hospital chair (gross) or a sweet sports chair (swoon).
