I'm a para girl. I found this site linked from another forum and have dug thru the post a few times. Unfortunately for me I've yet to run across what I'm looking for. A sexy devo boy! It's not that I havent found what I'm looking for here necessarily, just that I'm too lazy to read all the post!
It seems the mass here is devo girls and guys in chairs. Just when I thought dev males out numbered the females it looks as though I may be wrong!
So, any cute guys?

Hi and welcome.  That's pretty much it, this site is specifically for female or gay devotees of male chair users. You are absolutely right, male devs DO outnumber female devs, but this is our hangout.  I am actually not sure of any forums for disabled women to meet male devotees. They must exist. I have a couple friends who are very decent, gentlemanly devs. I will ask them and report back for you. Cheers, Claire Edited to add: I wasn't quite clear. yup, you've stumbled into the one place that is exclusively for people with an attraction to men in chairs.
there are loads of other sites that are geared towards women in chairs. maybe claire can point you in a helpful direction.

Claire has summed this up quite accurately. Yes, I'm a male dev and I've been around much longer than almost all of you. Just the way it is. Wish I could answer more positively, but the word "unsavory" does fit. There have been times in the past I've heard from the females who describe the "good devs" vs. the "bad devs". Here I'm reminded of a principle in economics called "Gresham's Law". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gresham's_Law Simply stated, when two currencies are in circulation together, the bad currency will tend to over-run the good currency, drive it out of the marketplace. It happens much like that to many of the female wheelers (or gals otherwise disabled). Sooner or later the bad example presents himself and in a disgusting fashion, drives the women away. You guys are great. I feel like total jack ass for posting here in the first pace now, I had no idea it was ideally for the Ab females n whatnot. I read the website. I knew it was founded by a dev girl but I guess I skimmed through the rest! My mistake!
Thanks for your efforts Claire.. I've looked around some and havent been too impressed myself. Whispers4u isnt too bad but the good ones are few n far between.

Don't go, you are welcome here. This is way more than a "pick up joint". The founder of the site is a gay man who is both a wannabe and a devotee. If you're interested in the subject of devoteeism, I for one (and I'm sure I'm not alone) would be VERY interested in the opinion of a female wheeler on the subject. Please stick around, and if you're up to it, answer some of the interesting questions we've posted. |

The only danger, of course, is that female wheelers may attract male devotees which, as was previously described, doesn't always have the best results and isn't the goal of this board. Otherwise, though, I'd personally find her observations interesting. |

Lol I've read quite a bit of what you girls (and some guys) have had to say,..I will admit this is all pretty new to me, being that I broke my back just a year ago. Inititally I thought of a devotee as just another dirty truck driver with a fascination for the bizarre or strange. Turns out that isnt the case. Not even close, but I guess that stereotype is kinda typical coming from an outsider (my impressions were manifest pre injury). Now I think I understand tons better thanks to you people. It always helps to see first hand. And just for the record its quite obvious some of you ladies are great looking, well educated and sensible, I think you gals may be doing the wheelie boys more of a favor than you think I guess if you guys have any questions.. just shoot! |
