And yes a lot of wheelies have low self esteem. We are still seen as second class by some people but I must say that finding a place like this has sure helped me to see life in a different light. I know. I wish it was not that way. I kinda understand in a way. I have had guys not want to date me cuz of my huge scar down my chest. Which I would not be alive if I didn't have that scar. I have more battle scars than I care to count. I think scars on a woman is Hott... you should show me yours some times... i will show you mine if you do... lol

There's nothing suspicious about it. As a group wheelers are poorer, fatter, will die earlier and have a whole lot more other baggage than "average" (whatever that means). Not a whole lot of ulterior motives come to mind.
It doesn't seem so far fetched that devs are devs because they just can't help it.

well i can think of a few thiongs that people might want from wheelers. First, wheelers usually have a pention or some sort of stedy income. 2nd, Some are really desprate and will give anything to have someone that they think loves them. Then there is the people that want to power to be able to rule over some one... to be in total controle. To the point to be abusive. Ever see Deloris Clayborne?... That is just a few of the things that ran through my mind when i first found out about devs. Now that i have gotten to know a few. it seems that most female devs are really just nurtuering and loving. I have not talked to any male devs, so i do not have an opinion about them. I do however know a few female wheelers that have had bad run ins with male devs, stalking and such.

The only thing I can think of is zero attraction. The idea of running into a dev makes me smile. I would assume that if we were close enough to the point where she would be comfortable enough to tell me?
LOL....the Vampire on True blood would look slow and sated

Aside from this board, I had told several wheelers and their PCA's about my devoisim and this site and mostly it has been caught with a good reaction.

Dev-et I think females are just easyer to accept as devs, for some reason they seem to be taken as the motherly type dolting over their man with a challenge (what ever it may be) Where as a male Devo is seen as agressive and scarry... by the weeker and more vonerable feeling female wheeler... Anyt imput on this guys and gals?

Why would a female wheeler be more weak or vulnerable than a male wheeler? I did not sat they were weaker i said they Feel weaker. Let's face it most females do feel weaker and more vulnerable wheather they are ab or wheeler... I myself being a male have found that i am more cautious and "Weaker Feeling" than before my SCI. and if it were not for this site all i would have to draw my opinion of devos from is the bad exp. of some of the female wheelers i know from another site.

Woman weak Man Strong Tarzan knew his sh*tOh, of course! And that character was created in 1912! . Seriously, Ray, I don´t get what you say. I can obviously only speak for myself, and the only time where I feel a little bit more "weak" than a guy, is when it comes to lifting a 35 kg. suitcase and placing it on top of a wardrobe - and that´s only due to the biological fact that males have more muscle strength than females. By asserting that women feel weaker or more vulnerable than men you reinforce the old-fashioned cultural/social stereotypes, that have been fought against for many, many years. Grrrr . When it comes to feelings and emotions we´re all human beings. However they may be expressed differently by the two sexes (if that was your point?)

All i know is i have never had a guy ask me to walk them to their car in a dark parking lot... lol I am not trying to "reinforce the old-fashioned cultural/social stereotypes, that have been fought against for many, many years." I am just staiting what I have seen making no judgement one way or the other... Most women that do feel weeker or what ever really are not they just feel this way... Let the fur fall where it may...

I don´t think the parking lot example works, really. If a girl asks someone to walk her to her car in a dark and deserted parking lot, it´s probably because she knows there´s a risk of running into someone with criminal intentions, and that the risk of something bad happening is a lot smaller when she´s in the company of someone (be it a girl or a guy). So I think it´s her knowledge that determines her behaviour rather than "her feeling weak or vulnerable". Well, anyway, I think we agree to disagree here.
