Possibly some of the people on that site need to have sex?
Sorry, that was wrong of me, I shouldn't have said that.
However, sex always helps my mood.

Yup, it's me, the guy who owns the "other" board. Just to let everyone here know, I've known of Devodees, Wannabes, and Pretenders for quite a few years now. Although I can't quite get my head around Pretenders and Wannabes, I guess I can kind of get my head around Devotees. From the way I understand it, the wheelchair or disability becomes part of the person's physical make-up, and as such, it adds to their attractivness in the eyes of a Devotee. This is no different than a woman's physical appearance being drawn to the attention of a man when he notices her breasts, firm butt or blue eyes. Nobody these days blinks an eyelid at an older man, say 50 with a young girlfriend of 20, yet the attraction is not the conventional attraction, but probably that of wisdom and power. Many disabled people have alot of life experience, and this can be seen as an attraction to a Devotee, in addition to the physical attraction of the orthosis they need to live with. Am I on the right lines here, or way off-base? Regards Simon P.s. T-shirts are here -http://www.cafepress.com/apparelyzed/437537

Simon, you are definitely on the right line of thought. It's NOT about having power over another person. It's about admiration and finding that person attractive. Indeed the disability is not separate from the person, but incorporated into the "whole" of who they are. This is where I think female "devo-ism" differs quite sharply from hetero male "devo-ism". I have found that the men can just get off on looking at a picture of womens' legs (a disabled woman, let's say) with no head attached and just get off on that. I need to see the whole person, including personality. I am NOT just attracted to a wheelchair, but I will find an attractive, intelligent, confident man who happens to use a wheelchair very sensual.

The wheelchair is just part of the package. It's the whole that counts. No one thing cinches the deal for me.

Hi Simon! It's a bit more complicated, but hard to explain. But you are definately on the right line.

Being into a guy or gurl in a chair is no different to prefering blondes or brunnets....

I've been away from the board for a while, and have only just gotten caught up with my reading. All I can say about this particular thread is... "Wow!" It is, after all, pretty intense. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I'm all for devs. As someone mentioned before, they can't help it if they have exceptionally good taste! I think Triassic is right, maybe we do need a group hug. Can I be in between Chan and Devogirl though? I don't feel like hugging any dudes right now. Did anyone else love that bit about 'coming like a freight train'? I know one C5 that's always up for a train ride! - Sid
