so there has been some talk about a book club and im loving that idea but i was hoping we could add to that and also have an on line movie/ tv club too. it could be an on going thing ... so everytime you think of a movie or a tv show you can add it to this list, and maybe what you thought of it... ( i just hope you guys have not done it all a million times before and im way too late to join in ) there are lots of tv or movies/tv that i have see with dev stuff in them but one that stands out right now is the first season of friday night lights. i think the character of jason streets was really well played. what do you guys think? I think a TV/movie club is a good idea. As you can see, I am not difficult to please. TV club, movie club, book club, what-one-had-for-breakfast club, I'm up for anything!
I loved the first season of Friday Night Lights (even though I HATE football/sports). Jason definitely had the "dev-factor" for me. There was one episode in particular, I cant remember which one, that started with him transferring, working out, and etc. That was, in my opinion the best dev moment of the series.
To extend this into another TV/movie related topic...
Did anyone get the extended version of Avatar when it came out? The scene in the alternate opening, before the bar fight, where Jake undresses on his bed. Perfect (and I mean PERFECT!) dev scene, no? That made the $39, for the Collectors Edition Blu-Ray, a steal at triple the price!

I loved Daredevil even though I don't like blindness. I think the movie actually spawned a little Ben Affleck obsession I had for a year or so.
I never saw Friday Night Lights was the guy in it a real para? And unfortunately Paige, we didn't get the extended version of Avatar but I still think it was a great dev movie. I didn't know there was a para in it when I went to see it and was happily surprised as you all can guess.

Avatar undressing on bed scene ? Oh my. I hope it's also available on DVD, I don't have Blu-Ray.. Speaking of movies, who else loves "Gattaca"? And have any of you seen "The Men"? What do you guys think of the "Dark Angel" Series? As for Friday Night Lights, it never gave anything to me, sadly. I still watched it, it's a great show, but that Jason Street guy is so not my type, and even though the issues were handled quite realistically, I never bought his physical portrayal. If it only had been Tim Riggins... Oh god, I would have liked that. So much. Same story line, just with Tim Riggins. Sigh.

Yes. Being a lover of ancient technologies like DVD and CD's I got the DVD version. Woot!
Have not seen The Men. Like Gattica. Haven't watched Friday Night Lights. Loved Dark Angel.
Currently enjoying some NCIS fanfic that involves the same actor's character with MS.
I won't vouch for it's quality because I'm easy. That's why I don't review books. I'm too easily entertained. ;D

Here's my monster list of some favorite movies and TV shows: amzn.com/l/R1C32S7ZXCHEOII never got into Friday Night Lights, even though it looked like a good show. So do you want to do this in addition to a book club, or to have a combination movie/book club? Either one is fine with me, whatever you all are up for.

What about the obvious Murderball?

What about the obvious Murderball? I might be the only dev ever saying this, but Murderball is not a turn on for me. Neither are autobiographies and all that kind of stuff. There are many reasons for that, but as I said, I'm aware I'm an alien in that respect. For me, Murderball is a good and interesting documentary, and that's it.

Murderball was an interesting documentary. End of story. I am not really into jocks anyway. I prefer brains.

Well, concerning the most recent posts, I haven't seen Murderball and don't plan to. They aren't really my type. I agree with Cake and BA, I love brainy guys. I like moderately strong guys, but not super buff ones. It's kind of a turn off.
I watched Friday Night Lights until Jason Street left the show. It was pretty boring to me, and the only reason I watched it was for the dev factor.
I personally LOVE The Men. Old movies + para = double win!
And I've never seen Dark Angel. Is it something worth finding?

omg !!! lol this making me laugh so bad ... cos i feel the same about murdreball! and cake i soooooooooo know what you mean about tim !!! this is so funny i got into friday night lights thinking a dev thing right. but quckly started to feel for tim but i thought everyone esle would like the guy in a chair lolllllllll. having said that there was one or two sence that had me going whattttttttttttttt about the dev stuff. like when he was recovering and his girl was there and all that and i did think they did a good job with his character.
emma im the same with the Daredevil and being pelsently suprized at avater.
as for FNL the guy in it is a football player and he breaks his back so na he wasnt a real para. but he did a good job anyway ...
and dev girl thank you for you list its a great one im getting the good movies now. as for the book/ movie club ... yeah im down ... it sounds like a good idea. but maybe we can keep this thread going so that ppl can just add there movies and tv shows to it, in oder to talk about it in the club. ( does that make any sence?)

If it only had been Tim Riggins... Oh god, I would have liked that. So much. Same story line, just with Tim Riggins. Sigh. omg. that is EXACTLY my experience of FNL. to this day i pine for the alternate universe where tim riggins was the one in the chair! lol sigh, indeed. Avatar undressing on bed scene ? Oh my. I hope it's also available on DVD, I don't have Blu-Ray.. Speaking of movies, who else loves "Gattaca"? And have any of you seen "The Men"? What do you guys think of the "Dark Angel" Series? the collector's edition dvd of avatar is on my christmas list. i was hoping for some devvy bonus scenes.... i can't wait! i love the movie gattaca, although i think the wheelchair left a bit to be desired. (how hard is it to get a modern looking wheelchair, prop people???) but i do enjoy it... and the stair scene is pretty hot. the men is one of my all-time faves. probably tied with coming home. i'm currently re-watching dark angel. i realized it's been years since i actually watched the actual *show*. i always just watch the logan highlights. the time around, i managed to keep with the program for the first couple of discs, but now i'm finding that i get impatient and start ffwding to the next logan scene. ah, well. i just rewatched fight club again and there is an unexpected, momentary dev moment tucked in there that i always forget about, that always catches me off guard, and always 'triggers' me. there is a scene just after brad pitt gets beaten to a pulp and he collapses on a seat (a toilet?!). he is a bloody mess, and badly hurt and he manually picks up his limp right leg to cross it over his left. and hot damn, something about that 2-second scene just sparks the dev-fire for me.
