Stranger in Town by Brenda Novak (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?xkzj2rqi0zb)
Annie Solomon - Blind Curve (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?hx4zhmjk2k2)
HOLIDAY CONFESSIONS - ANNE MARIE WINSTON (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?jyeymmwmdzy)
Too bad because I was really interested in "The mornig side of..." and "Stranger in town"...

D'oh! Sorry about that. The site is only about a year old, but maybe she abandoned it? I emailed the site owner, hopefully she will respond.
Emma, it's very generous of you to offer to mail people copies, but that would mean sharing your real name and home address, I'm not sure everyone is ready to do that. Not all the resellers on Amazon Marketplace will ship internationally, and those that do will only ship to certain countries.
I'm still thinking of some good fanfic. Cake has some good suggestions, but do you all have a preference for anything in particular? Any specific fandom or disability? And what do you think of slash (male/male pairings)?

Oh and by the way, Covert Affairs got a call-out on my favorite pop culture website, in their list of year-end TV bests: www.avclub.com/articles/the-tv-club-awards-2010,49405/3/ "Best Hacker On An Action Drama: Christopher Gorham, Covert Affairs Hacker characters are de rigueur on primetime action shows these days. They’re chained to a laptop at HQ, talking into the undercover hero’s earpiece. The hero hears it but no one else does, despite it being the loudest thing in the scene; even better, the hero talks back, but no one realizes who or what he’s talking to. Gorham, the charmingly befuddled Henry from Ugly Betty, gets to play extra business on Covert Affairs, because his character is blind. He isn’t remotely convincing, but that’s part of his (and the show’s) charm." It's worth clicking the link, they pasted in a Youtube video that's a compilation of all the Auggie moments from one episode. The devs are on Youtube!

What about discussing the article BA posted?
Devogirl I'm happy with almost anything in terms of disability type and don't think slash would turn me off if the story was good and dev related. Oh yeah and I'm guessing "fandom" is the original story that its based on.....I don't even know what my choices are.

i'm up for discussing anything. books, movies, fanfic, articles.... whatever! it's just great to be able to discuss this stuff! my personal preference is for wheelers to be the subject matter. i am specifically interested in things involving mobility impairments...primarily sci. disabilities such as blindness, deafness, etc. don't do it for me. (i would skip those ones or try to play along... ) i think it would be great to even rewatch and discuss the classic movies. we all know them by heart but i've never had the chance to really *talk* about them in-depth. coming home, etc. i expect we all loooove some little details in these films! i also love a good book (made some suggestions on another thread) but they, like everything else, are few and far between...

She quoted you DG, must be here among us: What is a devotee?
"A devotee is someone who sexually attracted to a person with a disability. Devotees all have different ideas about what they find attractive. Some are only interested in spinal cord injuries, for instance, while others are attracted to any kind of physical disability. We are not interested in children or developmentally disabled adults. " DevoGirl
Hello devoteejournal creator and thank you!
Unfortunately I cant get the links to work for me.

Duh, I actually knew about the livejournal site. Sorry I directed you all to the wrong place. And she never wrote back to me! Huh. Well thank you Cake for sorting it all out. I did see how she quoted me, which is cool. I'm not sure if she's a member of this board. As some of you were saying, some people only see the main website, and miss the message board. I know her from the Girl Fans of Blind Guys yahoo group: groups.yahoo.com/group/gfbg/But if you are the creator of devoteejournal and you're reading this, please let us know!

For those of you into blind guys - this is still a great one for me (it was screened on TV in the UK while we were living there). The lead character's not totally blind (finds out he's going blind at the beginning of the series) - but it pushed lots of the right buttons for me (besides just being darn good TV). I even named my son "Ross" after him! (And Clive Owen is SO hot!) (Point of interest: The writer, Paula Milne's father was blind) amzn.to/lWqQ79

I read through all of this just to make sure animation was free game, and figured it was alright since I saw 'Quest for Camelot' show up a few times. I had a dev moment at the end of "How To Train Your Dragon." That movie's also got a brilliant musical score.
I'm glad to find a place where I can admit I liked Daredevil and not get laughed at! XD Oh, Ben Affleck...
I'm going to have to check a lot of these out for myself, thanks guys!

Of course animation is fair game! And yes, Daredevil, sigh, always a favorite. I think there is a new movie version in the works, who knows if it will ever be finished though.

For Devogirl, tuna and any other blind-guy fans that I'm unaware of: Here's a link to the promos for the new season of Covert Affairs which premieres in just under a month (7 June). The talk is that there'll be lots of Auggie - and not all of it in the office...(PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Covert Affairs, NO miracle cures here) video.usanetwork.com/series/covert_affairs/previews_6/spies-have-more-fun/v1325289Don't know about you, but I think this looks pretty promising...
