There are guys here *pretending* to be disabled? Wow - I'm such a sheltered dev haha. I'm assuming they don't all have legit BIID though right?

I'm Dumb, i didn't even think he was a biid. Biid is totally crazyness and disrespectful. Biid people you just don't understand. You know nothing. I don't want to be rude but this is the real truth. Enjoy your body instead of playing with it. Woah. I don't quite understand the hate. I do not comprehend BIID in the slightest, but I know he can't change the fact that he has BIID as much as I can't change the fact that I'm a dev. It is a mental disorder that brings a lot of real hardship and often shame on the sufferer. Anorexia is not disrespectful to those that are hungry, and I don't think BIID should be considered disrespectful towards wheelers. However, I do agree that this board may not be best suited for people with BIID. There is no hate. The point is that being a BIID is kinda silly and disrespectful towards your body and to the DA people who hadnt choose their fate. Most of all you want to deprive yourself of something forever without even imagine what that means, and trashing what was a precious gift from your mother (your body). A baby boy might think this way, not a grown up man. Get yourself together and change your mind. As I said he should find a way to enjoy his body instead of playing or hurting it. It may be difficult for him but I am sure he can find the right way. Moreover there are things we just cannot decide. I wouldnt compare being a dev to this.

Moreover there are things we just cannot decide. Exactly. Body integrity identity disorder happens to be one of those things you can't decide to have or not have.

I was responding to Wheelrider's statements: "Biid is totally crazyness and disrespectful." and the notion that BIID is a choice. It is not a choice, and it is not inherently disrespectful.
I don't know why people with the disorder participate here either, I would imagine it makes them feel more genuinely disabled, especially when people believe they are. What do I know? As I mentioned before, although they are permitted to post here, I don't think that this is the right board for those with BIID- that we can agree upon.

I am renting this bike for now until I decide which one I want to buy. Any recommendations? Where can you rent a hand cycle. I'm in NJ.

Handcycling seems like a lot of fun. I would definitely like to try. Any suggestions for beginners? as one of the prior posters said renting seems to be a good idea for a newbie until I know which is the one I want. But where do I rent from? Thanks!
