lisa, that was the best story! I am so happy for you and love his reaction! Very inspiring. Please keep us updated. I've told myself that the next time I spot someone I'm that attracted to, I will go up and talk to them... wherever we are. haha Also FYI—I am 99% sure that there is a pretender who is often on OKC under different accounts. I recently ran into him again. He usually mentions wheelchair racing in his profile and creates different profiles with different people's pictures. It's very tempting, but heed the red flags!

The wheeler in that Vice documtary I posted got started for snarking a cop. Knowing he has OI and that this kind of brutalization could literally kill him, I can't actually watch this video past the first few seconds. It's totally sickening. v.redd.it/nhaa3ht5jzq51He really seems like a cool guy. He did an interview for a magazine last year, where he says: dopemagazine.com/dustin-brandon-profile/

WTF. It looks like he pulled his arm really hard! I would be surprised if that cop didn't break/dislocate his arm or shoulder.
There have been a number of incidents of violence towards PWD like this in the last several months in connection to protests and I always think wow, great, on the few occasions where the assumption that PWD are fragile people in need of protection would actually have practical benefit it's missing (at least with law enforcement)?!

I was in a shop recently and saw a really attractive man in a custom manual chair. It was a similar chair to the ones my partner had been looking at so I took a deep breath and walked over to say hi. I asked him about his chair and he was really friendly and chatted for quite a while, he even asked my opinion on which of the 2 shirts he was holding would look better ! Even though I’m in a relationship, it was still really exciting to talk to him and I’m glad I did.....can’t believe I did that though, it was definitely out of character.

That is super exciting and brave. I love that. Perfect execution, but next time consider sending him over to the boards.

I could never have the confidence to just walk up to someone and strike a conversion like that! good thing he was really nice, I can imagine it would be so awkward if I did that

I did a similar thing years ago. I was in a holiday resort with cobbled, hilly streets. I saw a cute young para guy in a bar. I spoke to him to ask about whether my (imaginary) friend would manage if we went there on holiday. We chatted for about 20 minutes, about how difficult it was for him to live there, I even bought him a beer. My knees literally trembled the whole time. R.

I am also not comfy at all with just going up and starting convo with someone unless I have a very particular “reason.”

If I’d thought about what to say or what if he responded badly I’d never have chanced it. So thank goodness for the unexpected and unusual impulse.....

Whew...broke the loooooooong COVID-19 spell of not seeing any wheelers. I actually seen 2 in the last 5 days - woo hoo! Sad thing about COVID-19 is mask wearing really does hinder the ability to see if someone's face is cute. Younger wheeler sighting at an outdoor mall. Poor guy had to endure my stares as I could not believe I actually found a wheeler to spy on. Second, was a really handsome thirtysomething wheeler eating at an outside sitting area of a restaurant. I spotted those wheels from a mile away (LOL). I actually drove around the block to catch another peek.
