Lol at the description "incompletete quadriplegic, which means most of his body doesn't work but *maybe* has *some* movement abilities" especially after showing him playing sports.

Grocery Store Wheeler was spotted about 2 weeks ago! I have not seen him since COVID-19 started and the one time I did not look for his car in the parking lot - BAM, there he was in the juice section. It was nice to know that COVID did not take away any of my ridiculous tendencies when I see a wheeler (lack of coordination, racing heartbeat, loosing steering control of the shopping cart etc.). And, I still felt like the DEV neon sign was above my head LOL. COVID-19 sure did not take away from any of his sexiness though which is a good thing.
I stuck around in the parking lot to watch him transfer - whew...
Keeping my eye out for more sightings now that I know he is out and about again.

Gah, I’m fecking kicking myself…
Saw an interesting looking bearded, tattooed (I think/pretty sure para) waiting in the shopping centre at the vape stall earlier. 40’s I think. Glasses. Dark hair. Custom chair. He was there ages.
I could ask him if he wanted his portrait done, I thought to myself.
I had my daughter with me, so I was dithering about making up an excuse to get her to stay with the shopping while I went to talk to him, but then I chickened out. We went into the pharmacy and when we came out he was gone.
I’d seen him wheel past the coffee shop at a fair old clip when we were sat in there earlier too.
I’m such an introverted twat.
Doing portraits is the perfect excuse to approach someone now - and I blew it. I bet I never see him again. Wah 😩!!

Believe me, you are not the only introverted one here! A lot of us are on that struggle bus. Ask me how many good looking wheelers I've talked to when I spotted them in the wild. Zero. That's how many.

Sucks though, doesn’t it lexidee? I go through all the ‘what ifs’ a billion times afterwards, just to beat myself a little more about my introversion too.

But it goes back to how many do we actually see out there? I mean with Covid the past two years, it's not that anyone got out a lot but even now that I've been to several events with many people, I see nothing, or at least not a guy I would talk to, because they are either just not my type or they are with someone.

I nearly fell into the lap of a gorgeous guy in the grocery store about a year ago. I rounded the corner as he was wheeling up the aisle and we collided. I was so flustered and embarrassed, all I could do was apologize and run the other direction. But what a perfect opportunity that would've been.

Have you considered/tried having business cards made for potential models you encounter? Might be less intimidating and wouldn’t put them (or you) on the spot. The card could direct them to your Instagram or website so they can see how talented and legit you are, and then they have a way of contacting you even if they don’t want a portrait.

Thanks ayla, I was thinking the very same thing yesterday - shame I haven’t got any business cards. The amount of times I actually see a wheeler in the wild though…?? It would definitely have taken some of the awkwardness out of the situation though.

I know it’s such an incredible long shot but it’s also an inexpensive and discreet thing to just keep in your wallet in case the planets align… 🪐🪐🪐🧑🦽

Furthermore, maybe that’s the solution for all of us…just carry “I’m a dev” calling cards for those magic occasions 😂

Can we do a collective order for the cards? I’m in! 😂

Not a wheeler spotting out in the wild but still fascinating: I recorded a show on TV and I fast forwarded through the commercials with 16x speed. Still, I was able to spot a second of a commercial where a wheelchair basketball team was shown. 😂

I'm on holiday just now and oh my goodness there's this hot, fit wheeler guy at my hotel who is a frequent user of the pool. The hotel does not have a hoist so he has to get himself in and out of the pool by relying on his strong upper body.
He can get into the pool quite easily so that's not so devvy but getting out is quite a different story! There's steps leading up to the entrance and exit of the pool and today he brought his chair to the edge and had to move his legs into position by dragging them with his hands, which he took great care into arranging so it would seem he has very little, if any, use of his legs.
It took about three attempts for him to finally get into his chair, the first time one of his legs slipped as he tried to push himself up by using the grab rail and his chair for some leverage and he ended up back in the water and down a couple of steps. The little splash he made as he tried to regain his balance was so cute! Then the second time his hand seemed to slip a little at the last second and he ended up underneath the grab rail and he finally managed it on the third attempt. Once in his chair again he moved so quick and confidently, it was such a contrast to the position of weakness he had been in just a moment before. The fact he had no top on was just even better!
As he headed back to his sunbed he looked around him to see if anyone had seen him and no-one seemed to take much notice, except one very lucky lady over the other side who thankfully had dark sunglasses on so that he couldn't see how much I had enjoyed that!
Hopefully he's here for a few more days yet. 🙏
