Oh man, I just rediscovered this album. I've somehow forgotten about it over the years. I got into this album back in 2007 after I had been hit by a truck. I remember putting it on during my physical therapy sessions because it pumped me up big time for whatever reason. It's sort of a supergroup that Dave Grohl formed just to make this album. He wanted to have an excuse to work with some of his favorite rock musicians and thus, Probot was spawned. This is my favorite song from it. The song Lemmy did is really fucking good too. So is the one Lee Dorian an Kim Thayil did together. Fuck it, the whole album is amazing.

It's a shame that Mary Hopkin isn't mentioned a lot these days, she has a wonderful voice.

I remember the first time I heard Led Zeppelin properly back as a 13 year old. I was given a copy of 'Mothership' by a mate and loved it, listening to it constantly (before I bought The Beatles' The White Album, that is).
However as my musical taste and preferences began to expand, Led Zep faded into the background. But 10 years later, yesterday on a complete whim I bought the Complete Studio Albums on Amazon's Digital Music store.
It all came flooding back, old memories of how 'Good Times, Bad Times' blew me away, how 'Heartbreaker' was the coolest thing played on strings and how 'Stairway To Heaven' is still a little boring.
Combined with new discoveries like 'Moby Dick', 'Custard Pie' and 'How Many More Times', the music Of Led Zeppelin has been welcomed warmly back into my heaving bosom of the ears.

Since I'm a giant hipster, I like to know what people are into. So what are you listening to? If you're not listening to anything right this second, are there any albums you've been addicted to lately? Post 'em. The Brian Jonestown Massacre - WisdomThis is, in my opinion, the best song on the best shoegaze album ever made and BJM are the best shoegaze band that have ever existed. There's a really great documentary about BJM and their rivalry with The Dandy Warhols that I highly recommend called Dig! Anton Newcombe, the brains behind BJM, is a tormented genius that has created some incredibly beautiful music. Love BJM... have some special memories of driving through the mexican desert as part of a caravan.. helping family member move back south with the sun roof open.. Listening to When Jokers Attack.. one of my favorites.. the other favorite being It Girl. People should take a listen if they've never given them a chance before. The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time. -Mark Twain

I'm like matisse. I don't really think I have "eclectic taste" in music any more... I think that most people like lots of different music. I love when these threads come up and discussing music here because I always discover something/someone I like. The last songs I downloaded were Jack White's "I'm shakin'," El Vy's "Return to the Moon," Never Shout Never's "Until I Die Alone," Frank Turner's "The Way I Tend to Be." The last two albums I downloaded were George Ezra's "Wanted on Voyage" album and Vance Joy's "Dream Your Life Away." The song I've been listening to most faithfully recently, is "Trip Switch" by Nothing But Thieves. The CD that was my most recent go-to in the car was Hozier's Hozier album. Running second to that is one that has X Ambassadors Love Songs, Drug Songs EP and The Reason EP on it. My current, "Ermagerd, yes, it's on the radio!" songs include "Ophelia" by The Lumineers, "10,000 Emerald Pools" by Borns (I don't know how to put the line through the o.), and "The Ghosts of Beverly Drive" by Death Cab for Cutie (which I actually find a smidge devvy).

I'm really liking the new Radiohead, after not liking their last couple of albums.
also listening to some Chris Potter Underground bootlegs from 2006, with Adam Rogers on guitar.

I'm listening to Trivium's latest album Silence IN The snow, not for the music necessarily, but for the nice mixing and mastering job. It's great to hear some modern metal that hasn't had the life crushed out of it.

It's oh-so-very essential to our individual and collective happiness. I'm always stoked when other music nerds join! What else can you recommend?
