I like almost every single thing you just listed. Marry me. ::blush:: Music is totally the first thing hephaestus and I bonded over. It's oh-so-very essential to our individual and collective happiness. I'm always stoked when other music nerds join! What else can you recommend? The new Santigold album is really fucking good. I've been extremely addicted to Prayers lately. I only checked them out because the concept of "cholo goth" had me laughing my ass off, but then I listened and it's incredible. I just saw Tortoise recently, and apparently it's the first tour they've been on in a really long time and that was pretty cool. Zorch is pretty cool. The newest project that doseone is doing is called Go Dark and I'm kind of insanely in love with it. Then again, I'm a huge doseone fan in general. I don't know who the fuck Playboy Manbaby is, but that album you posted is incredible.

Um, I didn't know this existed and now I MUST check them out. (3) Tortoise's Standards is still pure gold after all these years. Love them! (4) I need to check out the other honorable mentions STAT. (5) Playboy Manbaby is a local Phoenix band and they are fucking fantastic, especially live! Thank you for the recommendations!

OK, WHOA! Zorch is AMAZING!!! Really digging Go Dark so far, as well. Armus , you're kinda blowing my mind right now. Here's some more then. Wild Nothing. I like every one of their LPs, but if there's one you should listen to, it's definitely that one. Can't find a link to the full album, but the album this Bag Raiders song is from is absolutely amazing. Probably one of my top 10 favorite albums of all time. You've probably heard this before, but Clams Casino is in my mind, one of the greatest living producers today. If you like this Kisses song, check out the album its from Kids in LA. This Perterbator album is one of my favorite electronic albums right now. I've been listening to it while I play videogames a lot. I was extremely addicted to this Le Matos album for awhile. I've kind of forgotten about it, but it's still a damn good album. I don't know if you're into hip-hop very much, but I'd recommend giving Nacho Picasso a listen. Blue Sky Black death produces a lot of his albums, and BSBD makes some really fucking good electronic stuff.

(2) LOVE that Bag Raiders track - I have heard it before, but never sought out the album, which will obviously need to be remedied. (3) Clams Casino: TOTALLY forgot to give him honorable mention. Back when I was introduced to him in '11 or maybe '12 (?), I was immediately hooked/obsessed. (4) Kisses - digging this track, so I'll definitely check out the album. (5) Perterbator seems decent. (6) Le Matos - totally fucking brilliant! This one will definitely be in rotation. (7) Not a HUGE hip-hop fan, but heph has been introducing me to more and more stuff that I really dig. This NP track is pretty good. Thanks again for all of these amazing recommendations and reminders!

Old stuff, I like, but the newer shift just isn't quite hitting my groove spot. Yeah, I said it. Also, these guys are old news, but I thought I'd also mention Pictureplane, fthrsn, Menomena, Dream Cop and (REALLY old news) Burial (basically everything is great). Also, Shmu is n't too shabby either really growing on me. Nice!

I never got into Flume, but I always liked what I heard. Maybe it's time I fix that. Pictureplane really doesn't do anything for me for whatever reason. I never really liked Menomena, but I was actually just listening to a Schoolboy Q song earlier today that samples that exact Menomena song, heh. Burial is really fucking amazing but I get bored of him really fast. I have one of his EPs, I forget which one, and I put it on sometimes before I go to sleep. That Dream Cop song is really doing it for me. I'm into this for sure. Kind of reminds me of Shmu a little bit actually, combined with Niva. That fthrsn track is pretty cool. It also had a Small Black song in the suggestions, which is pretty cool.

Honestly, those bands were all collected years ago, but had sounds I thought you might be interested in - I'm with you on Pictureplane, overall. I saw him open for Crystal Castles, which was great, but the album versions were never quite as good. Some bands/musicians are just better live. Flume is definitely worth checking out imho. Menomena is also one of those bands who I was just blown away by live but have to be in a particular mood to listen to - or I just pick and choose my favorite tracks, of which there are quite a few. I really love sleepy music, so Burial definitely tickles my fancy, but it's definitely mood-dependent music. fthrsn is kinda all over the place for me, but they have an interesting sound that keeps me coming back to revisit their material. Small Black is also quite good, but I'm not the biggest fan. The Shmu album you shared is quite fucking good. The more I hear, the more I really like it. NIVA is definitely up my alley as well.

I discovered this band because of PD, how I never knew they existed is beyond me. I'm determined to catch one of their shows! Plus they're from Bloomington, Indiana - see the MidWest rocks!
