I’m thinking he’s a dev. What you think?

Hhm...interesting. Idk if he is a dev, I think the age gap is pretty wide but whatever I guess. I wonder what their families thought about the relationship. Maybe she has certain interests that attract her to him. My personal opionion - if this would be the other way around, I wouldn't do that to a 22 year old guy, not for a long term relationship, maybe a fling and even that is difficult to imagine for me. I have a 21 year old son and I would not be thrilled if he had a 58 year old gf

I like the two guys in the other video, they are both cute. The young guy is very attractive and since I am older, the older guy is appealing to me in other ways, just seems like a nice guy to hang with probably. Nice video clip!

I think we’ve discussed Richard and the wheels to walking page on here before. Thought I’d mention to you all that on the podcast from a couple days ago they dove into the devotee subject. It’s kinda crazy because I’ve interacted with him a bit on IG and I’ve been wanting to shoot him a message asking his opinion but I’ve been terrified he’d put me on blast. Which is crazy because he’s not that kind of guy. He seems very rational and level headed and likes a good conversation about topics before just blowing up about something.
I thought it was a great chat on the episode and I sent him a (quite lengthy) message on IG this morning disclosing a lot of information and talk through the episode with him. It was really great!!

Wow rebeckers84 you are courageous. I could never do that. I am actually scared to watch the video. For me it would be scary because he also has a gf and I would be worried to get like backlash or something. In an ideal dev/PWD world they all would know and understand and we would all be happy ever after but it's not always the case. How did he react?

Haha I actually mentioned Jalila in my message to him. She’s a sweetheart. He was really great. He responded with “I really enjoyed reading this! Thanks for your feedback and great information! Glad we got it somewhat right 😁”

So I listened to the Podcast, I fast forwarded to the "Devo" part and I think they covered it okay, they didn't put it into one type of behaviour but left it open to many different reasons why a person is a Dev. I wish they would have called it "Dev", not "Devo" but it's okay. I may comment on the Podcast and thank them for discussing it.

Thanks for sharing rebeckers84 and it's really cool that you sent him a message! I've never heard of them or watched anything before - just watched the part about "devos" now. They both seem like cool guys, who would be rational and open-minded in a conversation. But I didn't really like the way they covered the topic. It wasn't the worst I've seen by far and I appreciate that they tried to be somewhat neutral about it and make some distinctions between bad behaviour and just being into something. But I don't think they really hit the target. It was still so full of assumptions, odd theories and then also plain contradictions. It probably suffers from the same thing that so much about us out there suffers from - people talking about devs, whose main experience with devs is creepy behaviour on the internet and who probably have never had a good talk with a dev personally. You can't even really blame them, because most of us "normals" are in hiding, so they only get to see the crazy and the creepy. It's so telling to me how he talks about how some friends told him that "girl devos" are super normal. Like it's super surprising to him that they could be normal. And then when they talk about Squirmy and Grubs, he says "I don't think she's a devo in any way, shape or form, I think she's just a sweet kind-hearted woman." Like those things would have to be mutually exclusive? Like he didn't just say a couple of minutes ago that "girl devos" could be just that? Like there would be anything wrong with her being a dev "in any way, shape or form" or their relationship would be somehow less, if she was a dev? Ugh.

Ugh. 100% agree with you and that’s pretty much why I felt like I needed to message him. Like I said, we had interacted previously so I was like ok step out of your comfort zone and tell him how it is. I’m not expecting him to correct it or anything but who knows. Maybe if the topic comes up again he’ll have a little more understanding.

Amee When I read your thoughts I have to say I understood better how I felt about it as well. I wasn't all the way sure how I felt, once again you put in words what I couldn't. It wasn't the worst but not the best discussion about devs. There is so much more to it really.

lizzy what do feel is American? To me, many Americans I have watched on Youtube have the innate ability to talk and talk and talk... and I think, are you ever going to get to the point? Also, the use of the word "like" at least three times in each sentence. My statement wasn't meant as an insult. Not at all. Us Brits are generally just different; stuffy maybe. I need to loosen up. 🤣 I'll give the video another try. I am interested.
