I’ve never been particularly into thinking about myself with a (dis)ability or role playing with one. However, when Cole (boyfriend with SMA) was alive he used to like to ‘be my eyes.’ I’m no where near blind, but I do have poor vision and my eyes get tired frequently and I have light-triggered migraines. Therefore, I sometimes do habitual behaviors, like showering or brushing my teeth or what not with my eyes closed, particularly if the lights are reallt bright or I don’t have my glasses on. Cole liked to encourage me to close my eyes when we went on walks together and hold on to his shoulder or the back of his chair. It made me feel really vulnerable and nice, but it wasn’t because I couldn’t see, it was because he could and was using that ability to be there for me. It was a bit of a thrill, but it was very specifically tied to him leading me, not me ‘playing blind.” This feeling was also amplified because we were into petplay, so in many ways this satisfied the desire for him to ‘walk me.’

ok slightly off topic but i can't figure out how to make a new thread and this might not even warrant one. have any of the devs ever run into a man they knew before an accident left him PWD? and if so was their attraction for them? and how did he handle it ( if you didn't know he was now a PWD? ) did he straight off tell you what happened? i always wondered what it would be like.

If you click on the "Devs Only" area/link and then look up to your right in the yellow bar. There is a button that says "Create Thread". You click on that and then you can start your own thread with the topic above.

But a guy I had college classes with when I was young was AB one semester and the next semester he was in a wc. I used to go to the second story windows and watch him on campus. He was very good looming!

I first met my partner socially through a friend at a party about 16, 17 years ago, at which point he had just been diagnosed with MS, but did not really have noticeable symptoms. We saw each other a few more times at other social gatherings and then lost contact and met again a few years ago. He was in a wheelchair by then, had problems with fine motor skills and blurred speech,so it was quite a noticeable change. I did know he had MS, so he had no explaining to do and he is in general very easy-going and open with his disability, so there was no awkward situation for either of us.

I am a devotee who became a C5 quad from a diving accident I was a little down for a while, but I have gotten used to it and haven't many problems except spasms and bowel accidents. Last year I went to a pool party with my girlfriend and had a few too many and dove into the pool. The devotee thing for me sort of stopped when we started dating, but I still do like quad women and would like to experience it one of these days.

And last year became a quad after you dove into the shallow end of a pool. You have a girlfriend. But as a quad would like to explore sex with a similarly disabled woman. Yeah? Where are you from? What kind of things do you do for fun? How did you discover PD? Do you participate in any other disability or dev forums? Basically, tell us a little more about yourself.

Hi devo, i can relate to your feelings about fantasizing about paraplegia and quadriplegia. Right? Is it only when aroused or happens other times as well.. Like for me, It is mostly a way of fantasizing when aroused, but of late I have been having thoughts about it even when I am doing daily routine. Strange.

I don't dream about being paralyzed ever and my dev attraction is paraplegia/quadrigplegia. I do like other elements of being "disabled" but they are more on the immobility scale and are tied more into my sexual interests and fetishes ( I don't consider my devness a fetish). I have never spent much time thinking about if I want to be disabled and I actually stay away from those thoughts purposely because I don't want to add another element to all of this dev stuff. It's one thing to live with being a dev but I can't even imagine being "haunted" by the constant longing of becoming disabled as in BIID for example. I have talked to someone though who was a dev before and became paralyzed in reality. This is actually very intriguing to me and also fascinating. Interesting. what were this person's thoughts after becoming a PWD. Did the person still had the same romanticism/attraction towards disability?
