mcc2121, good for you, my friend. Standup is a tough business. I am not here to say which way is right or wrong. This is a sexually-oriented site. If I happened to see a picture of a vagina, I am not going to go, "oh my God, IT'S A VAGINA!" No, I am not going to get turned on by it, but I am just going to glimpse at it and get on with my day. Aren't we getting a little too sophisticated?? AB, there are a lot of things that turn me off, on this site. Do I express my feelings? No, because nobody cares, nor they should care. Just a thought that a female finds a picture of a male penis to be disturbing, is pretty creepy. All I am saying is that patelville has just as much right to turn people off as anyone else here. Somebody turns you off, somebody turns him off, somebody might be turned off by both of you. I think it's very fair.

mcc...tell us about this standup stuff. Do you have any links to video of you onstage? What's your material? Do you kill, ever? How do people react, generally?

patelville, dude, just give it a rest, huh? Yes, there's probably a little duplicity here; they flipped out about and criticised your pic but not others like it posted, etc...
But no one really cares, guy. Go out and see a movie. Play a video game, go to a strip club...get a life.

If you'd actually read the posts, you'd see that those pictures were posted in relevance to the topics.
There's a difference.
Give it up.

What for?? in case you haven't noticed, no-one's really interested. yeah, now at least you got some attention, but it's obviously a negative one. mcc is absolutely right: think about the question if maybe your attitude could be a problem with women. oh and your complain that there were no replies to your masturbation-thread: that's exactly the problem. all your posts are sorts of sexual approaches. we've never seen anything else of you. and although we talk about our sexuality on this board, most of us are definitely not here to do some dirty talk. you better be sorry for all the crap you gave me...check your post first paradevo.proboards43.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=personals&thread=1125289790&page=20I better be sorry??? um, could anyone tell me, please, what my first post has to do with this? well, never mind, i'll better save my energy for something that is really worth it.

mcc...tell us about this standup stuff. Do you have any links to video of you onstage? What's your material? Do you kill, ever? How do people react, generally? Well Triassic, I've performed stand-up for about eight years. My material is a mixture of disability humor and straight up observational stuff. I would love to give you a list of my material but I've had unfortunate experiences of it getting ripped off (the concepts). And no, I don't have any links (I guess I'm the "Chan" of stand-up comics! Just like you trust that she's not a fat, hairy guy, you'll just have to take my word that I do what I do.). How do audiences react? Well, when I do my job right...they laugh. I love stand-up because when I go up I know it's 100% on me. If I choke (ahem, which I NEVER do ), it's my fault. But then again, when I tear it up, it's all me. I guess I'm just a mic whore. As a fan of Andy Kaufman's "shock value" type humor, I do enjoy f-ing with an audience. Sometimes I'll go on stage acting very spastic, with my face contorted and sporting a horrible speech impetiment. As I start my material the audience looks horrified like, "God, this is uncomfortable." Then I'll say, "Hannnnngg ooonn" and turn my head and clear my throat. With a relaxed face and a clear, smooth speaking voice I announce, "Gee, I'm sorry about that. I ate a sweet tart before coming on stage. My, what a tangy candy!!" The audience usually realizes I had been f-ing with their heads. Now that I just sold my bar my big push is shooting a pilot episode for a sitcom of mine. This show is a mixture of Seinfeld & Friends. However, imagine those shows if "Jerry" or "Chandler" had been in a chair. Beyond disabilities, the show derives its comedy from making fun at all stereotypes (in other words, the disabled character isn't a token, fringe guy, isolated from the cast). Again, I'd love to say more, but spelling it out in a bulletin board isn't the best idea.

Patel, let me give you a tip. Don't argue with women. You will always lose, in one way or the other... lol.

He killed us - really funny as hell. I'm a musician/singer, and have played in bands in public many times post injury. and when i do my job right, it's killer, too. But i've always said being a standup has got to be the most unnerving, scariest form of performing. I've thought about it a lot, and i would be scared out of my boots....soooo alone up there!! With a band, or even just guitarist, i'm not alone trying to pull laughs. Power to ya, man!!

At my now former bar we had live music every weekend. I've got a pretty solid "announcer quality" speaking voice and many bands always tried to get me a sing with them. One time I relented (singing "Ring of Fire") and it was tough for me to stay within the structure of a band. Again, it's obviously just all about me!

See and I couldn't do what EITHER of you are doing.... I think I'd piss myself. I can belt out a mean "White Rabbit" on key for karaoke when I've a had a few beers, but to get up and sing my own (or other's stuff) and heaven forbid, to do comedy!! You have to have exteme guts and a great sense of showmanship to do either.
