I just watched Pig for free at an outdoor theater. Part of it is about the Portland restaurant scene, and I happen to be visiting Portland for a long weekend in a couple of weeks. I'm curious if anyone from Portland has seen it and what you think about its representation of the city. Have you already had your trip? I lived in Portland until recently and plan to watch Pig this weekend, and can report back! The Portlanders I've head from have really enjoyed the movie, for what it's worth. I guess a bunch of missing fliers were posted around town in some guerilla marketing campaign, which was a cute move. It reminds me of lady in my Portland neighborhood who had a pet pig named Pearl. The little piggy escaped the yard a few times and so I saw a lot of "found pig" posts on Nextdoor for a bit... until her owner figured out how to reinforce her fence.

Wait a minute, Pig's got Nicolas Cage in it? That does it, I'm sooo gonna watch this non-National Treasure related film.

I just finished the first season of Reacher on Prime Video. Watching bad guys getting their asses kicked made me smile from ear to ear, haha.

I have sung praises for the streaming service “Shudder” on this forum multiple times, and tonight I must praise it once more. This weekend the service has added a slew of deeply twisted French horror movies, with classics such as Martyrs, Irreversible, and Inside.
Yes, the great Franks who gave us the guillotine, Charlemagne tha God, Marquis de Sade, and most sadly of all, the horrors of centuries of colonialism and rape and pillage of the African continent. But their movies are so darkly twisted, for a horror fan of the wickedest of deadly torments I recommend this most highly. I just re watched Martyrs and I almost feel like I did from when I used to eat blotter papers and sniff powders.

I think this one looks pretty good. Marky Mark plays an ex-boxer turned failed actor turned aspiring priest, all whilst coming to terms with a neuromuscular disease diagnosis. Sounds heavy, but potentially inspiring.
