The electronics show wasn't a particularly serious suggestion, but thanks for crushing my dreams just the same. Now if you definitely show up then and there, I am absolutely for it to meet in Berlin and welcome the guest from New York!

I'm taking this very seriously! I don't know if I'm all that talented at organizing, but I certainly wouldn't mind I'm happy to volunteer, if nobody else is eager to organize In which case, I'd probably open a new thread... As for the event, I'm ashamed to admit that I'm not super-excited about the Rehacare event Maybe I'm a bad dev, but I don't find reha-technics all that interesting, haha. I'd much prefer a parasports event I also don't know if that wouldn't be a really weird excuse for the young ones among us Although personally, I'm in the "lucky" position of being a single lady living alone, so I really don't need an excuse. I could just hop over to Germany for a weekend without anyone knowing or wondering. I've also done plenty of solo-hiking for people to not really wonder, if I did a little bit of solo-travelling

I've also done plenty of solo-hiking for people to not really wonder, if I did a little bit of solo-travelling Well, my interest is also not in the reha-technics (albeit some of the gimmicks shown there are quite fascinating), but most years they do have at least one hall with sports, and give demonstrations of wheelchair-basketball, wheelchair-rugby (never have felt as much testosterone in the air before ), goalball (you'll have to gag me, but I love to watch, just can't keep quiet!), showdown (most times its so fast, I neither hear nor see the puck) ... And *cough* the two times I was there (more than ten years past, and then I had a professional cause to do so, and a disabled friend to go with...), it was quite an opportunity to flirt and shamelessly ogle, and not only for devs who are mainly interested in wheelchair-users.
Yes, I'm in the same position, solo and don't owe someone an explanation. What luck, at least when it comes to things like this. Well, the fact that Germany's population is getting older and therewith needs better care and better equipment is widely known and discussed. If I told my parents I'd go and bring them back a few cool ideas, I think they would be charmed. But then again - if I told them I was going to wherever, I would probably simply tell them I went there to meet online-friends, and that would be it.
Yes, a new thread would be a good idea, I think. Would you please do us the favor?

I'm with Amee in not being interested in such an event at all, mainly because I'm only very very remotely a wheeler devo or one of anything that would otherwise include technical aids as a hard requirement - also, that's no unrelated excuse. It's still damn suspicious if yiu aren't usually interested or travel alone usually. I also meant in the same city and at the same time - not necessarily at a fair. ^^ But I think the book fair in Leipzig is still most suitable - as it'd be a devo only meeting if I understand everything right, we don't need the extra accessibility you werr talking about that the electronics fair might have. Also, I'm pretty sure everyone could recommend a few books, so there'd be something of interest for every kind of devo in the end. ^^
Edit: whoops, didn't see Erika's new post. Now it's too late ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Now it's too late ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Everything's just fine. Leipzig actually would suit me better, but I think the best thing would be a sort of poll: Who (1) would like to participate where (2) and when (3)? And then the majority decides. Was it really a thought of devs only? There are a few pwd from Europe here, and maybe if a pwd from paradevo would like to join the meeting - at least a part of it - it would be nice to meet them, too. No? Maybe something along the lines: Late breakfast for devs only, and around noon a meeting for all those who want to? Well, I'm looking towards @amees thread - we captured yours and twisted it off-topic long enough. Sorry - and thank you for the opportunity!

Although, having in mind never ending Brexit agony, referendum doesn't seem such a wonderful idea anymore! LOL

Btw, it is not that you are not allowed to, but PMs are bugging today. Maybe due to too steamy atmosphere lately on PD. LOL Blame the sandwich!

Uhh... Hey everyone! So, after lurking around on here for about... don't let me lie, 3-4 years? I finally managed to create an account... Like apparently many of you here I'm probably overly privacy-concerned So, on to telling some stuff about me... At 18 years/19 in a day (and tbh I'm terrified >.<) I'm apparently one of the youngest on here. :") I'm from Germany, and from what I've read many of at least the devos on here are, too! Wondering if devness is more common in some cultures and if so, why. That actually makes for a good transition - hobby-wise I love researching things, especially (patho-)psychology. My passion has been character design though, and that absolutely blossomed in the last two years - so I might well hand you some stories when I get to it, with possibly rather diverse main themes. ; )) On a less board-related note, I enjoy gaming and am considering to get into drawing (which would then probably be having my yet again board-related OCs frequently... hmm, not so unrelated after all). I also have an intense love for music. ^^ (All of those things are sadly currently on a halt though as my mind is basically stuck in vocational training mode, constant exams, work experience abroad, so many things to worry about... ugh) What I probably have to mention at this point is that I overshare a lot. :$ *quietly apologises* I'll just be hoping I didn't annoy anyone too much, that I can strike up a conversation and that I'll be accepted well on here! ":^) Anyways, thanks to whoever read all the way to the end and greetings from Germany to anyone from elsewhere! " Edit: Ugh, bb code smiley weirdness! Welcome! I Lurked for ages as well. Now I’m back for a second time! It’s great here. From Europe nice! I’m from that stupid island that decided to leave… You said you like to chat feel free to pm me always happy to chat especially as we’re a similar age! I’m 25
