I thought it would be cool to have a thread dedicated to people's tattoos and appreciating them. You're welcome to say why you got the tattoo/what it means to you. I can start with one of my own. It was inspired by the artist Alphonse Mucha (specifically this piece), who was a prominent part of the Art Nouveau movement at the turn of the 20th century. You can see his art here www.wikiart.org/en/alphonse-mucha. I wanted something beautiful on my arm and when I saw his art I was pretty sure I wanted it on me somewhere. I'd also like this thread to be a place without judgment so if you don't like a tattoo, unless it's something like a swastika, keep it to yourself.

Gorgeous! It reminds me of Castlevania: Bloodlines; a statue in the background in the Old Sanctuary level or something.

I don’t have a tattoo, it’s not that I don’t like them but I never ever could think of anything that’s very personal and I’d wanna carry all my life with me. I’d want it to be very unique and not something that “everyone else has”. So yeah, that’s where I am at. Maybe I’ll get one someday.
And now I’m really looking forward to see what you all have. Hope many people take part in this thread.

I've always wanted a tattoo, but I'm TERRIFIED of needles. I do have plans though, for if I ever work up the courage: I want a little study of a cilantro sprig and a cup of tea with a swan painted on the tea cup, then maybe a chrysalis. Maybe someday I'll just go for it and I'll be sure to remember to post it on here

Edit: Okay, so there aren't that many statues in the level. The aesthetic still fits, though.
Edit 2: At least I didn't say your tat reminds me of Dark Souls or Bloodborne. Everything reminds me of Dark Souls or Bloodborne.

Ok, I totally see it now. It's a very greco-roman style.

Ok, I totally see it now. It's a very greco-roman style. Yah, this level is supposed to be Greece but it may as well be Cape Cod.
The game developers were all like, "Eh, just throw some minotaurs and Medusa heads in there and call it a day."

I never got any tats. When I was young it wasn't so common, yeah, back in the olden days only sailors and soldiers had them So for me life happened and I never got any for no particular reason, it just didn't happen. I do like tats on hot people though and I always check them out when I see them like at the gym and stuff. I also like it on guys and if I find them attractive, then yes, even better, it's hot. My husband who was a soldier had one done a long time ago and it's a violent looking skull thing with fire all around it on his upper arm... My 21-year old son has a full sleeve and it looks awesome, but it cost a fortune, took like over a year to complete and there are like at least 4000 bucks stitched into his arm. He has a fierce Neptune/Poseidon on his arm, waves and ocean, and three terrifying looking sharks, only black ink. He also has an old English letter "D" on his calf, it has a meaning for him. He is not done and wants to get many more...he also only checks out girls with tats he actually asked his tattoo artist out but she was only like six years older and declined his offer.. She did put her art piece of his arm on their website though which is awesome

I've always wanted a tattoo, but I'm TERRIFIED of needles.
I am the biggest wimp when it comes to needles yet I still managed to get more than one tattoo. Partly I did it to prove to myself that I could be stronger. Also FYI the pain varies significantly depending on where you get it; the more flesh, the less it hurts. Don't pick a location right on the bone and you'll be ok. After a few minutes the endorphins kick in and the pain lessens significantly, eventually you feel really good. If you want a tattoo just go for it; you'll be fine.

Or be paralyzed and certain parts don’t hurt at all.

Your definitely right about the endorphins. So far all my tattoos have felt weirdly good. But I’m going to get a tattoo on my wrist in November, which will probably be the most painful one I’ve gotten yet and I’m a little nervous. Thankfully I’m not really afraid of needles so at least that won’t be an issue.

I have no desire to have a tattoo, don't know why, it just doesn't appeal for me personally. That said I can see that they are an art form and can be very hot on the right guy. I tend to prefer designs like this one rather than pictures of actual people or things. Of course the right body helps! R. PS: As an aside, the guy in this photo is a LBE amputee.
