Posts in the Wheeler Spotting thread got me wondering if you follow wheeler guys on Insta or any other platforms.
I follow about 125 guys on Insta, all wheelers except about 7 or 8, although not all post regularly.

I don't have IG. I actually don't regularly follow any dis guys. I am subscribed to some channels on YouTube but even there I don't actually follow anyone or check regularly. I can't even remember the last time I checked any vids of any of them. I watch music videos much more than anything. I am a music dev for sure  |

That’s the only reason I signed up for Instagram a few years ago 😋. Unfortunately I signed up as myself, which ties me to my Facebook and I have people like my aunts & mother requesting to follow me, which made me paranoid that they can see who I follow, which was 100% pwds (maybe 8 peeps), so I’ve since diversified and now follow AB people too haha. (I never did approve my mom 😬) This is so funny. One of the main reasons I signed up is that I wanted to follow Garrett Greer and potentially comment on his insta. I have to be careful with how many I follow because my daughter and I follow each other. I can just see her asking me one day why I follow so many wheelers LOL!!!!! |

Same! I follow quite a lot of disabled guys on my IG but I also use it for regular personal stuff so its far from a devIG.

And I’m also a bit paranoid on people finding out who I follow.
So if somebody wants to see something on my IG I tend to hold the phone in a really weird angle so that they can’t see the display until I’m at the post I was looking for to show them 🙈

@southerncalgal... that was my first IG wheeler also. Follow a few now but nowhere as many as you do robb. I agree, please share. Lol. I have a mixed bag on there of art, other people I love, environmental and photographers. My youngest son and my sis and my ex all follow me so I get worried occasionally but really, I don’t even care anymore. Just know it could be awkward. 😜 |

I'm not on any social media (except facebook from years ago and I don't use it at all), but I have Skype on my phone, which I installed and made an account specifically to communicate with people from PD. Since I've had that I never hand my phone to anyone anymore, because I'm paranoid they'll stumble across my Skype or find any pictures I've received over Skype (completely harmless, but pictures of PWDs on my phone would definitely prompt questions). One of my friends actually got slightly annoyed about that a little while back. I showed her a couple of pictures on my phone and she wanted to hold the phone and go through the pictures herself and didn't understand why I wouldn't let her, lol. She's the kind of slightly nosy friend, who just keeps going, swiping through my pictures, even after she's seen what I wanted to show her - so I didn't want to take any chances there. Better let her think I'm weirdly possessive about my phone |

I don't have Instagram either, I have only FB, but I use it almost exclusively for business purposes.
I have to admit I am generally not interested in following people I don't know. I don't think only pwd/dev thing, but also in other areas and interests in my life.
What I do enjoy thought are one-to-one interacts.

I started to shudder when I saw some of those "standing in braces and kissing the girl" pics with the Madison guy. Why do I find this so annoying?

It's an interesting point Dani. As a dev I know what you mean, it's not something that appeals to me. But looking from the PWD/non-dev POV it is surely getting on for the biggest thing in overcoming the situation. Next step, well, steps! R. |
