So as not to step on Devogirl's Devo Diary announcement, I'm posting here: Three of my books, Very Physical Therapy 1, 2, and 3 are on sale now through Friday for a dollar off the already low price. Instead of $2.99 pick up the Kindle version for only $1.99 and get a little quarantine reading done! Very Physical Therapy 1: www.amazon.com/dp/B01CKCL5X6Very Physical Therapy 2: www.amazon.com/dp/B01HFCU9AQVery Physical Therapy 3: www.amazon.com/dp/B078RKK47DIf you buy all three, it's like getting one book for free!

Here's an update on what I've been up to in this period of isolation. In the few weeks prior to the defense of my PhD thesis, in my spare time, I joined Instacart for online shopping of delivered grocery/medical supplies. I finished season 1 of the relatively new show Hunters on Prime Video, and started season 1 of the sci-fi show The Expanse (originally it aired on the channel SyFy) also on Prime Video. In addition, while resting on my bed for some pressure relief for my rear end, I listened to some of the albums in my vast CD collection from various artists such as Metallica, Dark New Day, Hoobastank, Pantera, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Coldplay, Dave Matthews Band, etc. Occasionally, I would listen to them during vest and nebulizer therapy sessions, to clear up any excess mucus secretions in my chest. Finally, yesterday I successfully defended my PhD thesis online via Zoom! I'm now officially a doctor of philosophy in mathematics!

Once I finished my defense I felt like a heavy weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

Wow, I didn't realize that my thesis would strike such a chord! By popular demand, and as a shout out to AlrightyAphrodite, let me give y'all the main gist of my thesis in mathematical physics. First, a little background. In the classical theory of electromagnetism, Maxwell's equations describe the interactions between electric and magnetic fields, which emerge from distributions of electric charges and currents, and how they change in time. On the other hand, in what is referred to as non-abelian gauge theory, Yang-Mills equations are essentially a generalization of Maxwell's equations (I won't go into the boring, technical details). Typically, Maxwell's equations and Yang-Mills equations are considered in the context of real variables. My thesis proposed deriving a few different versions of these equations from the context of complex variable and function theory, differential geometry, exterior algebra, and the study of C*-algebras. I know, it's a lot to digest, and certainly not everyone's cup of tea!

Maybe you will be the one to get Einstein's Unified Fields theory to work better than in the Philadelphia experiment. I actually know nothing about any of it, I just wanted to seem smart by standing close to you. That is really impressive, and now I need to go and learn a tiny fraction of what you do
