That stillness you speak of might be the least discussed attribute of disability. I am certain everyone has noticed it with a fleeting glimpse, but just like them I have never pondered it. I don’t know about the rest of the wheelers, but you may have provided me with the most unambiguous understanding of dev attraction.

Sorry, but I am bringing this thread back up to the top of the board because I feel it deserves a special place and I don't want to see it slip out of sight. In fact, I vow to keep bringing to the top until one of you tells me to let it go.

I read your thread Inigo and being a quad myself I'm glad you shared some of what you are feeling with us guys. I have been on here for awhile now and I know that some of the ladies for whom I have chatted to are quite reserved, they find it shy to open up the feelings that they've had for years. Last week I was having a chat with my brother-in-law about what I could move, feel and do. He couldn't understand how I could move my golfball.....'joystick' without feeling my hand, how I would control it under spasm, when I new that a spasm in a certain part of my body it meant something was up.....ie, clothing to tight, water infection on the way, etc. At the moment i'm in a dilemma, i've had a syrinx in my neck since 1996, i've had loads of MRI's, gonna need it draining soon, only I might end up in just moving my head. I don't mind mouth control joystick.......some women mind find it sexy, its just the thought of not moving my arms again......

As a non SCI dev I need some help understanding what you are talking about Pete. What is a syrinx and are you saying that it could cause further paralysis?

Thanks, Pete. I appreciate your response. There are lots of reasons for that shyness.
Best of luck with your syrinx. I hope they can drain it and you're not left with additional functional impairment.
