Let's just make this official. There has been a few threads that have tried to be this but either strayed or never had video games as its sole purpose. It might as well be named what everyone calls it as well.
Here are the two ground rules.
1. This is solely about video games, use your brain and you'll figure out what that means. 2. Haters keep out, no one wants to hear how you never quite understood or got into it, ssshhhhhh!
On a lighter note, I find myself being influenced by the sports world. I watched the some of the NFL draft, which got me playing some Madden, mostly entails creating the worst team possible using the fantasy draft, while trading away some quality players for draft picks, simulating the season, cheating the draft, no free-agents, and repeat. The the NBA playoffs got me playing a little NBA2K, then just because I needed a game that doesn't take very long to complete, I got back into MLB the show, doing a little RTTS.
Right now I feel like some Battlefield 4 since the house is free of kidlets.

With E3 starting this week, this is the perfect time for this thread. Am I the only one here who watches all the press conferences? I play a little bit of everything. Mostly on PC though as I have trouble with console controls. Recently I have been playing ARK: Survival Evolved, but I have tons of expereince with MMOs, RPGs, RTS (I suck at RTS), and FPS games. For anyone interested in the E3 conference, they can all be veiwed on www.twitch.tv, here is the schedule: www.ign.com/wikis/e3/E3_2015_Live_Streams_and_Press_Conferences

I actually used to do video game journalism and went to E3 a couple years ago (the year the PS4 came out, so that was exciting). I'll admit with my headache situation I haven't been able to really play in the past few months, but it's gotten a little better lately so I've been able to play some Pokemon and am reminded how addictive those games are. I'm hoping things will continue to get better so I can finally finish Dragon Age Inquisition...
Normally, I prefer indie games and RPGs. I used to love adventure games, and I really like modern takes on the genre, like Murdered: Soul Suspect, but those are few and far between.

Only thing I play lately is Eve Online, very cripple friendly. 1500 player battles are really fun, plus the politics are kinda nuts (which Coalition is shooting who, which Coalition is 3rd partying battles just because they can).

I've always wanted to attend E3, I'm quite envious of you, but I've heard they closed the event to the public. Do you know if this is still the case?

You can only get in if you're media or in the industry. You have to apply and be approved. We were too small of a media outlet to get a media badge (they're really hard to get), but we were able to get in as industry. It was amazing, but exhausting. Because of the restriction of getting badges, people made a habit of selling them, but when I was there they were really cracking down on that. They'd randomly stop people and make you pull out your ID to compare it to the badge, and if it didn't match, they'd confiscate your badge (so you couldn't get in). I actually saw it happen to one guy. But honestly, with the internet now, you can see so much of the stuff you couldn't see in the past, without the hours of waiting in long lines! LOL.

Anyone here play Destiny? I played it a bit when it first came out but I wasn't a big fan of the way you level after 20 so I sort of stopped. But it was fun with friends.

Nowadays I don't play videogames anymore. But I used to play mainly RPG's in the 90's. Shining Force Series, Phantasy Star Series, Lunar: The Silver Star Story, Lunar: Eternal Blue. But, for my great shame, I never played the Zelda Series or Super Mario RPG.

Mainly play WWF/E games now. Mostly for the fun factor, 'what ifs? and the nostalgic almost time capsule-y atmosphere of each game from '98-present.
Also mess around on GTA from time to time.

You're never too old, maybe too proud. But yeah, gaming has lost it's lustre in recent years with originality being scarce and gimmicks, remakes and sequels being abundant. And the majority of 'Gamer' culture is irritatingly immature and makes me ashamed to pick up a controller at the best of times.

I've been getting a bunch of discounted games in the current Steam Sale. Mostly indie stuff like Luftrausers, Papers Please, NidHogg and Dustforce.
Special mention goes to a tiny game called "Duck Game" which is all made by one dude, but it is an absolute riot when playing with three other people.
Apart from that I've been playing Arma III with some friends.

you've got to love those steam sales. I have a bunch of games I have yet to find the motivation to play, but I think I really want to play them eventually. I really want to do the Mass Effect series, and get caught up on Dragon Age. I was kind of excited to play Ryse, but then I saw a bad review.

No Bethesda fans in here? My dick basically exploded yesterday during the conference. Dishonored 2 looks absolutely incredible, I can't wait to see what they do with it this time. FO4 Also confirmed to be released November 10th this year. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! [Hype Intensifies]
