It's one thing to just say this upsets me, I'd prefer it not to happen, but I literally laughed out loud at how audacious your posts were in telling this guy what to do. Yeah, I'm so self-absorbed that I tell someone not to use something they don't need. You know what, let's get rid of handicapped spots. Stop telling people where to park! Let's NOT tell people to not be jerks!

I think getting rid of handicapped spots is just fine, I've never had to not go someplace because there wasn't a handicapped spot available. It may have made things more of a workout, but such is life sometimes.
I think it is possible that people with BIID could tell the truth and get a placard, doesn't seem that far fetched to me.
Who's taxes are you exactly paying for? Are you saying people with BIID don't have jobs? I mean it is a shitty economy, but wheelchairs aren't cheap and medicare probably isn't helping them out.
Go ahead Green, keep these assholes BIIDers in line with your compelling internet posts.

Go ahead Green, keep these assholes BIIDers in line with your compelling internet posts. Heh, what's even going on! I don't even know what you're going on about. Admitting to doing jerkish things = Good, I like honesty. Continuing to do them without trying to stop = Not good. See this song: I'm not saying MJW is the second one, I don't know if he is.

Green, No, we shouldn't encourage people who cut themselves to continue. We offer the mental health support they need and make sure safe guards are in place, so if they do cut, they have help. When someone says "Hi my name is Bob and I'm gay" We should also not openly nitpick and interrogate (Why are you gay? You are threatening the sanctity of marriage! Why can't you just be happy in a domestic partnership?) We should say to ourselves "Huh, I'm not gay, but he is and that makes him happy" and then say outloud "nice to meet you". When someone says "Hi, my name is John and I have BIID", we should do the same. Then the person with BIID can go on living with a lesser degree of social stigma and isolation and will be less likely to suffer depression and suicidal thoughts. People who are against gay people, trans people, racist people come up with all sorts of "hard facts" about how these people are taking their resources, threatening their rights, blah blah blah. It's the standard reaction of ignorance to something we do not understand.

A Last Man (Not) Standing Match has been scheduled for midnight tonight in the Devine Octagon of Death. The following wheelers have secured a spot in this epic battle: - matisse- MarineAmp- Green - Mr.BBI am seeking: - 9 more outspoken wheelers (because I like the number 13 and smack talk is freakin' fantastic for publicity) - at least 2 more ring girls (because I'm feeling lonely) Tickets sold through Ticketmaster. I'm in a weird mood again. Don't judge. Unless you really want to. Then please feel free to.

Lucky you.....so let's see, you don't care that they use our spots, and you don't need a spot anyway.....how convenient that you're ok with them taking something I need, that you don't..... I think it is possible that people with BIID could tell the truth and get a placard, doesn't seem that far fetched to me. Well let's just ask him: did you lie to get the placard?

I'll repeat the question that I asked you a few months ago, which you then conveniently ignored: Taking my h/c parking spot or toilet stall is not hurting me? Is it, though? or is it just an inconvenience? Are you likely to be in physical or emotional distress because you can't park close to an entrance or have to wait for five minutes to use the bathroom?

Do you really want to be seen as an "angry wheeler?"

I probably ignored it because I don't agree with the premise: that I can only dislike his behavior if it causes me physical or emotional distress.

Why so angry tho? Do you really want to be seen as an "angry wheeler?" Hmmmm, yeah tone can be difficult on the net. Maybe I should have been including emoticons at the end of my sentences.....

Vancityippy, your appraisal of the situation is most commendable and articulate as far as I'm concerned. Love your views and inclusion of different 'mental health states'... intersectionality ftw! And cheers to everyone else who argued pro-BIID. Mental health issues are so hard for people who do not have first hand experience with them to understand, and I can understand how this one causes a lot of frustration for some wheelers. I hope people continue to discuss these issues as being open about them is the first step to normalizing our differences. I also hope that we one day live in a world where the government mandates enough accessible parking spaces and porcelain thrones for both physically disabled people and the handful of BIIDers who live their lives as pwds.

O.o No one was mean even or hostile, except Legoless. google gives two definitions for the word argue, I was using it as in option # 1. I also never said anyone was mean or hostile, what about my post makes you say that? ar·gue ˈärɡyo͞o/ verb 1. give reasons or cite evidence in support of an idea, action, or theory, typically with the aim of persuading others to share one's view. 2. exchange or express diverging or opposite views, typically in a heated or angry way.
