LOL sungod that is a really good observation.. I like excel a little too much (I'm like Liz Lemon with her spreadsheets lol) and I am always making bullet lists and nicely organized outlines. Damn I really am a nerd... laur you totally get me.. I think it is you that is the coolest . That seriously sounds like the perfect day lol myrrh I absolutely agree math is sexy AF. I've had the weirdest crushes on people that could really only be explained by the fact that they were incredibly good at math, or we did math homework together, etc haha Just a few random facts about sungod: 800 on SAT and SAT II math 800 on math GRE Certified professional engineer Would try to fly a rocket to the moon with an XL spreadsheet if it was possible Just FYI. Omg staaaahhhhp lolol 800 seriously?! Isn't that perfect score? Interestingly math doesn't come to me "naturally" lol. I have to work really hard to understand it, but I can get there. I think a massive reason I succeeded in getting a degree in math is because I'm a hard worker and I have a lot of grit lol. But I was dreading taking the GRE. My natural strength when it comes to test taking is actually more the verbal/reading/writing side. So I would have had to study my ass off for the math part (despite having a degree in math lol), especially since I'm out of practice with a lot of that stuff (geometry especially). Luckily I got into a stats program that didn't require the GRE. Yaaassss lol

I was pretty thrilled when I finished the computer-based GRE and immediately found out that I had an 800. The SAT math section is mostly managing to make no mistakes, but the GRE math section is legitimately hard. I was the opposite as you with the GRE. I reviewed the math a little, but I was a lost cause on verbal. *Opposite from you? I don't know. One of my lacking areas for grammar.*

I feel like I'm talking to a celebrity right now I can't remember my exact scores on the ACT (I took that instead of the SATs for some reason lol) but I recall being somewhere around 90th percentile for English and Reading. But barely average for math. Back then I thought I was terrible at math and barely tried. So the fact that I even reached an average percentile was shocking lol. I'm sure I would have done much better on all sections if I had actually studied AT ALL (I was kind of a slacker in high school... lol). I could full on read books by myself before I was in kindergarten, but I didn't really discover my math potential until my mid 20s. I think because the other stuff came so easily to me and math didn't, I thought I must be bad at math. It wasn't until I went back to college that I discovered just because I have to work at math doesn't mean I'm bad at it lol. I suuuuuck when it comes to math on standardized tests though. I think it's because I need a lot of time to think about it and work through it, so the time limits stress me out. Plus no partial credit lol. I somehow passed the math comp exam (standardized test required to graduate). I truly don't know how I passed lol.

Like an embarrassing amount. People tease me about it. Have you seen Brooklyn 99? My spirit TV character is Amy Santiago. I bet youâd like her too.

I use Excel now to keep an eye on my finances, ingoings and outgoings. It's an incredibly useful and simple tool to use when you devote time to it.
As someone who is 'terrible' (I can do it, I'm just terrible in believing that I can, like most things) at Maths, Excel has been a huge help for me.
I do charts and everything, it's lovely.

I'm a massive music nerd. I pretty much am listening to music all day every day, and I don't leave the house without headphones.
I'm REALLY into synthesizers because I make electronic music. I plan to start building my own modular synth eventually from kits that you buy and then solder together yourself, but that's a huge time and money sink so I haven't gotten around to it yet.
I love sci-fi shit. Isaac Asimov is my favorite author and I watch Star Trek to fall asleep.
I play D&D sometimes.
I play a lot of videogames.
idk i like all kinds of geeky shit

I think maybe I'm nerdy as opposed to geeky lol. I am a book nerd, not really into tv shows or movie series or anything like that. I was a bug fan of some TV shows in the past, but I haven't watched much in the last 5 years.
I'm a big HP Fangirl though and I follow a lot of bookstagrammers and keep up with bookish news that interests me, like bookish clothing and kitschy items... I do reading challenges every year, and set a goal of how many books I want to read. Last year was my best year, with over 100, but I'm aiming more toward 75 this year.

I grew up convinced I was a jock to the core. All I watched were sports 24/7 and thatâs still pretty much the case. It wasnât until later in life that it hit me that âpro wrestlingâ might be considered a nerd category. Who knew? I mean Iâve heard it called gay, fake, etc. As hopper mentioned, the world fascinates me beyond measure. You can create an entire universe from scratch and watch it play out week to week.
So my analysis on pro wrestling qualifying under the nerd category...if youâre just flipping channels and see it on, thatâs not nerdy. If youâre not invested in the character or stories in a particular segment youâre just watching a segment. Like turning to a movie youâve never seen 2/3 of the way through it. If youâre like me....you read all the dirt sheets (Slang for gossip and rumors), and listen to all the wrestling related podcasts of the companies I follow. I follow 7 companies.
Nerd confirmed

What genres of books interest you the most? [/quote] I generally find myself most obsessed with and drawn to fantasy, para normal, contemporary...and I love a good romantic plot. Honestly, I love a well written young adult love story lol. I do reading challenges because they ensure that I read a variety of stuff...I follow challenges that provide prompts (ie. A book that takes place the decade you were born, a book a stranger was reading in public...and my favourite, a book with a disabled character lol).

As someone who is 'terrible' (I can do it, I'm just terrible in believing that I can, like most things) at Maths, Excel has been a huge help for me. I do charts and everything, it's lovely. I love all of the tricks Excel can do too. Also, for any of you planning events, Excel/Google Sheets can be super helpful for budgeting, managing RSVPs, and creating schedules. You can have data add itself up nicely and are able to sort it so easily too! You can even creating budgeting categories that will sort into columns when you add in expenses. It's so fun (for me, at least, maybe not everyone...) I totally am the person who volunteers to make these templates for my friends, because creating beautiful spreadsheets that efficiently do tasks is on my list of favorite things. Okay, leaving this thread before I gush too much more about spreadsheets and accidentally make you all think I'm too cool.
